Yeah...we just went in September and we're going back in 18 days for the final Osborne Lights and MVMCP. People ask that all the time - I tell them my wife and I love it so why shouldn't we go back?

Answer thusly:
"Didn't you see movie <XXXXXX> twice in the theater and still bought the Blu Ray?"
"Didn't you just go to the <beach/mountains/cruise/Six Flags Theme Park>?"
"Didn't you just eat at <their favorite restaurant> last week?"

"There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who think Walt Disney World is the most amazing place on earth, and those who have never been."
-Author unknown
And those that go peak season with no FP or ADRS, and sleep in till noon, and come back and say, "how do you go here, that place is nuts, worst vacation ever"

I got this with two full years between trips! I think many people just have no concept of what a disney trip is like, or that some people can fall in live with it and find enjoyment the rest of their lives.
My inlaws acted like we were insane and throwing away money on our trip last week, meanwhile they own 4 weeks of a timeshare, and go to the same damn resort in fort lauderda,e every one of those weeks per year.

At least our trip has fireworks! Lol. People just like to be negative.

Some people just don't get it. We don't have kids, and people found it strange the first time we went to WDW. When we booked to go back, we got a lot of questions about why on earth we wanted to go back (especially as we're going a 14 night trip next time!)... and then my Mum and I started planning to go together for her first trip the following year... yeah, most people I know don't get it.

I tend to save my talking for here, because people get it! :D

My fiancé and I live in South Carolina and are both AP. We always plan to take a trip on our anniversary (Oct. 19, MNSSHP and Universal's HHN also always-dos), then at least one trip between Thanksgiving/Christmas (sometimes one during EACH holiday), we do a Spring Break trip, and lastly we try to go at least once during summer (this year we went twice)! I'm a school teacher so whenever there are extended breaks we like to plan a 3-5 day trip, I know those out-of-school breaks are probably the most crowded times to visit but we both have been APs for going on 4 years now (with 4 or more trips per year), we've gotten pretty savvy on how to work with the crows. We do only stay on-property for our anniversary (on-site prices do dip in October thankfully!), as for the rest of our trips, we don't mind staying at budget $40-a-night hotels because we're at the parks from rope-drop to the kiss-goodnight, and just need a pillow and shower for the night before we're at it again!

Yeah, I totally got "you're going again?" from some friends who knew we had went the first week in August before school started and we just got back from our anniversary trip 2 weeks ago (and our December trip is already planned and booked, and they don't even know about that one yet!)

I always paste pictures in my "I'm going to be out of the office" email, to entertain my co-workers with all the things I'm going to see and do: this year I went to WDW in May and October and will be headed down again in December, so I start the emails "yes, again...", and just get it out of the way!

We have received this reposnse for years already !!! Honestly, it's led to us not speaking that much to some of these people --- homesty, if someone is a good friend, they should realize that if you enjoy it, that's all that should matter --- we have friends that go on cruises all of the time -personally, we are not cruise people. But they tell us they are going, we replay "awesome --- enjoy-- when are you leaving ? Where are you sailing to?"

I was telling friends that we're going in January and they thought I had just went and our family had last gone 4 years ago.

Truth is most people I know older than 12 don't watch the same movie twice and don't go to the same vacation spot twice within 3-4 years. A restaurant is a frequent visit for dinner. Very different than a vacation. Lots of my friends will go to Hershey Park once a year but that is a one day trip where you can get tickets for under $40 if you organize a group, not a full blown vacation.

Personally I think the sweet spot for a Disney vacation is every 3-4 years. More often than that and, to me at least, it wouldn't feel special. It would still be fun but it wouldn't be special. Also, I always include Universal (and hopefully Sea World this time) in our 8-9 day trips. If I was only doing Disney, I'd get bored after about 5-6 days.

I got that beat....

"don't you live right by Disneyland... why do you need to go to Disneyworld" or when we have passes to Disneyland "didn't you just go last weekend... " of course I did but I am getting my money's worth out of those passes :D

We just returned from a trip (our 4th in the last 8 years). I enjoyed it but am seriously thinking it may be a LONG time before we return. Price is the primary reason, though the crowds/FP system are a contributing factor. Because of FP+ we got to ride all the rides we primarily wanted to do, but at the same time we didn't even bother to try and ride anything between around 11 am and 7 pm if we didn't have a FP because of the lines. We also got a lot done in the morning, but we were literally getting up earlier than we do when not on vacation so we could get to a park for morning EMH, which isn't particularly relaxing. Finally, $400+ per night for a "deluxe" resort with a leaky AC and rattling fan doesn't seem like a great deal.

I don't try to justify it anymore. Every once in a while, if it's the right person, I'll explain why we love it so much. For example, someone at work asked why we were going again, do we really love roller coasters and rides that much? He has very nice about it, so I explained what its all about, why we love it, etc. But most of the time, I don't even waste my breath. Especially when people are snotty about it, I'm just not going to dignify it with explaining myself.

"Didn't you just go to the <beach/mountains/cruise/Six Flags Theme Park>?"

This. We have a group a friends that take a trip to an all-inclusive in Mexico every year. We went once and didn't like it, almost hated it really. Bad food, sitting by a crowded pool every day, whooping it up every night. Just wasn't for me.

Get that all the time. We were there this year over Easter week and are heading back on the 18th. IF you look at my signature you can see how many times we have been. ;) Our biggest trip year was in 2012 when our dd was in the College Program We went 5 times. :)
