I have read several post about bringing your own movie/show snacks. From the post it seem as though everyone is talking about chocolate candy snacks or twizzlers, sour patch, etc. I am wondering if popcorn is available, If so, is it a freebie? If not, what is the cost?

What type of snacks are available at the theater?
Does anyone have a price list for the theater snacks?

Thanks so much!

We purchased some of the candy while onboard the Dream last May....it was like $5 for a box I think...can't remember if they had popcorn but I assume so!

Yes they do have popcorn, it was $2.00 for buttered type popcorn in a chip like bag. They also sold carmeral and cheese popcorn, this was closer to $6.00 I think in a celfane bag with a bow. The type they sell in the shops at WDW.

We just got off the Magic last week. Buttered flavored popcorn was $2.49 a bag. It was similar to the popcorn you'd buy in the chip aisle at the grocery store (not freshly popped)....I didn't find it all that great, but the kids were happy.

We brought our own movie theater boxes of candy with us from home. This saved us a ton! And also held them over till late dining.

Sorry if this is a ridiculous question, our first cruise is summer 2013. Is there a microwave available anywhere on board? I know our WalMart sells the boxes of candy that look like theater candy for $1 each, so that would be easy to stock up and save $$. Could we bring our own microwave popcorn to enjoy hot popcorn with the movie?

No microwaves available for guest use.

There is no microwave available for guest use on the ships.

As above, if you want chocolate or other candies for the movies, you can bring your own from home for half or less of the cost on the ship. You can also get snacks and/or beverages from the pool deck and take it into the theater. We have been stopped by a CM who said we couldn't bring in a hamburger because that was "food" and we are allowed to take in only "snacks." No problem with cookies, ice cream, or fruit (all of which we have done.)

I bought popcorn on the Wonder for our Alaska cruise. It was not very good.

Don't understand why they don't sell good popcorn on board.

they purposely have pre bagged popcorn and don't have accessible microwaves due to the fire hazard the popcorn popping presents.

Thanks so much everyone. I will definitely stock up on a few things here before the cruise. I am a little disappointed about the popcorn though but it is all good! We shall survive! :)

I've only done the one cruise, but I also was wondering about popcorn and such for the movies before I went. I had heard of all sorts of strategies. Bringing snacks from off ship, mickey ice cream bars via room-service, self serve ice cream, chips from castaway cay, and more.

Then, we finally had time for a movie and I was too stuffed from all the great food to even contemplate snacks. :lmao:

My biggest complaint about my 1 cruise is that there wasn't enough time for all the great food....

Our grocery store often has 10 for $10.00 movie theatre candy and I always stock up...my mom and I have a weekly movie night!!!

I also always bring a few boxes onboard. Love me some Good N Plenty and Milk Duds.

We took hot dogs in with us once(weren't stopped, didn't hide them)....other than that we bring some candy/treats with us,and have gotten some in our fish extenders as well :)

Right before our cruise in October 2011, we were at WDW. The the day before we left, we used up our snack credits on boxed candies for the cruise. It was perfect :)

We got the boxed movie candy at the dollar store, they have all the good brands. Plus we bring crunch and munch popcorn.popcorn::

DW and I took a plate of desserts from Palo Brunch into the theater. You should be able to get some desserts from the Cove Cafe, if you do not get a Palo Brunch reservation.

We had saved our chocolate chip cookies from room service, and brought them with us! Yummmmmmpopcorn::

Trader Joes sells bags (same size as regular bags of chips) of popcorn. I haven't tried it, but my children love it.

We wished we had thought to bring movie candy with us. We bought some chocolate covered pretzels on board one night and saved cookies to bring in on other nights. Our daughters also brought in soft serve or made 'soda floats'.

We have also brought those snack size (or you could bring regular sized) Pirate Booty snacks....yummy like cheese doodles but not quite as bad....I hope!!
