Has anyone tried this? Any advice or tips? I would appreciate anything! thanks!

I did the Zone last summer, and did lose weight and felt pretty darn good. It was an easy diet for me to follow, though I didn't do the block method. I did 10-20-30 each meal is 10 g fat; 20 g protein; 30 g carbo. Afternoon and evening snack was 1/3 of value for meal. I can't really remember what happened, I think I just fell off the wagon. My Mom and Dad are by far better Zone experts, he is on the plan now.

Have you gone to www.zoneperfect.com

My parents have both had great results on the Zone diet! It's very similar to the Curves diet. She worked out at Curves at the same time she was on this diet, and she looks great now! My dad lost about 40 pounds and is also doing great!

Thanks guys. OhMom, yes I have gone to that site and in fact amd following their meal plans. I just had my first Zone meal and suprisingly, I'm actually full!!!
Rhonda, 40 pounds? thats great! I wish we had a Curves within walking distance of my house. I guess, I'm just going to have to stick to (or start :teeth: ) excersices at home.

I do better with more fat and fewer carbohydrates but my husband has some colleagues who have had pretty good success with the Zone and really liked it a lot. They only had about 20 pounds to lose and they lost it. They've gained it back now, but they really liked that plan.

Good luck with this, Wagamama. I'm so glad you are part of my support group now :)

OhMom's DM here. We did some zoning and my DH lost lots and he still likes this diet. Me, I was to (well lazy would be the word, just doesn't look so good in print) to figure the blocks, etc. DH would just tell me over and over and I could see his exasperation. Well, anyway, we did okay, I lost the usual 5 to his 15 and then we always seem to be doing so well and then we go on a vacation and then it is hard to get it started again.

I think that it is healthy and we have some very good recipes that were always tasty. DH goes to a site - will send to you. What is happening now, is that he zones, I count WW's points, it is very easy to have the same food and make it work. I let him pick what's for dinner and I just count my points and eat,
very well, as a matter of fact. I count my own points too, which I am sure makes DH very happy, tho most times I say - wait I have to see how many points that is - before I commit to eating whatever.

someone I work with (guy) lost 20 lbs in a month on zone but he has put it back on now. Had a "honey" in his life at the time and when she departed so did the diet (my thoughts anyway) but anyway it worked good for him too when he was committed.

Good luck and whatever works for you is what you gotta go with.
I am so excited about WW's points it has just clicked for me but if Zoning works - go for it!

We were in the Zone 4 years ago and still follow the general principles. DW lost about 25 lbs and I lost 18 (too much for me to lose). While we have slipped back a little, the concept is sound and is based on solid biomedical principles.

I would suggest doing the computations to figure out the number of blocks you require (there are simple instructions to do the formulas). Once you find the numbers appropriate for you, the blocks are pretty easy to figure and there are many great recipes and menus available. There are about 3-4 books out with the basics.

You are always only one meal away from being in the Zone! ;)

 Hey, Doc! Hugs to the lovely Liz :)

I'm starting back on the Formula which is like the Zone -the Formula is also called the 40-30-30 plan (40% carbs, 30% protein & 30% fat). This is what I lost 14 lbs on before Thanksgiving. I haven't gained any back, but need to get back to following it!

I did not have good luck with the Zone - I found it too easy to get out of the zone and eat too much of the wrong thing. I do love their Zoneperfect bars, and often use those as my breakfast since I can eat them on my drive into work. They also are great snacks for when my blood sugar gets out of whack. My favorites are the Chocolate Mint and the Chocolate Peanut Butter. DH and DD love the Apple Cinnamon. I also have had them for a treat or dessert every now and then, as it is certainly better for me than many other treat choices on the Carb Addicts plan. Sams Club sells them in larger boxes and they are a good deal. There is a newer one that is Fudge Graham and is kind of S'more like...
