The Yule Log is on TV!

I don't know why, but I have this strange fascination with watching the Yule Log. In case you've never heard of it, it's a shot of a log burning in a fireplace and they play Christmas music in the background. Every so often a hand appears with a poker and stokes the fire. And the big event is when he tosses another log in!

It just seems like the dumbest thing but for some reason I love it. I don't sit and stare at it, mind you. I have it on in the den while I'm reading the boards.

Anyone else watching the Yule Log? If you're in the San Francisco Bay area, it's on Channel 20 right now (Channel 13 on Comcast Cable).

We have it on only on christmas day. It will be on for us starting at 9:00am christmas day. I have never seen a hand or logs being added on ours.

I have Direct tv too. I have it on my local channel Philadelphia WPHL 17 at 9:00am.

I was wondering last nite if they still show it. Then this morning & saw a commercial that it will be on a local channel tonite from 9-1am. I've never watched more than a couple minutes while flipping channels, but somehow, I would have been sad if they didn't still show it. I guess I think of it as one of those holiday traditions.

I wonder if there's a computer version.

I just found it on Channel 11 in Pittsburgh. It actually looks nice to fall asleep to tonight

LOL...I'm in MA at my aunt's house (SeaSpray) and she just told me that her cable company has the Yule Log on Demand! lol We are looking for it right now....

I've been watching a WGN version of the Yule log that swaps back and forth with an old radio show--I've been listening to the Yule log's run of It's a Wonderful Life while wrapping gifts. Too funny!

We have it on this morning on WGN but it is kind of ruined by the tricker running along the bottom giving news and weather.
