The Young Avengers: A Very Avengers Holiday (YARP Part 6)

Hope: "Have you thought about interior design?"

Mike: He was searching for a TV program or a game.

OOC: I was going to have him put on Its a Wonderful Life and recognize it, but it came out in 1947 and he was sleeping by then

Evelyn: "Yeah I actually have thanks. I think I have a decent eye for that kinda stuff. I'm also thinking about fashion marketing or being a translator for the government."

OOC: True. I didn't realize it came out that late.

 

[Orreed]

OOC: Okay, we probably don't have a place to fit it in, but I recently recalled that Raven did a few undercover assignments and her aliases were exposed when her info went up. I've been thinking about how it would go between Raben and the various people she met and ended up living with or becoming friends with, not her targets that were either arrested or killed but the people she left behind when she faked her death.

OOC: Sounds interesting. You could start it now or after the time skip.

June: "Yeah, the director failed to mention that in his 'why can't you be more like Raven' rants. I don't even talk to Romanov anyways, you don't need to worry about that."

Raven: "Shut up! JUST SHUT THE CRAP UP!" She sucked in a breath, attempting to calm herself. Her eye were dangerously black and her muscles tense. "I am not your father's favorite. He adores the both of you. I'm not even his kid. Don't you DARE whine about how I'm his favorite so you can blame me for your own failures and insecurities. It isn't my fault that you aren't strong enough. You know, maybe Conrad was right to break up with you. Blaming him for all of your problems cant have helped with him being in that dark place already." She slammed the door in her face.

June: "I wasn't-" she shrugged.
"Okay." She went to her room and sat down, putting her headphones on and turning the music up loudly.

Gordon: "I've done some research on some Christmas movies, and I'd like to watch Elf if that's alright?"

OOC: So I don't think June blames people for everything on purpose, but I'm very aware that she does. I think it's sort of a defense for herself, it's hard to explain. I'm sorry if it's really irritating, which I'm sure it is. I honestly don't mean to write in the annoying ways that I do (like with Trent and Georgie and June and Eric and Brendan, etc.) but I'm sure that I do and I feel bad about it.

I also know that Hope's ever-perfection and Raven's ever-antagonism and my several-characters-for-every-thread and my what must seem like weakness/disconnect/dispassion with my characters in Chemical Alley (and who knows what else because for some reason no one ever seems to offer constructive criticism in this type of writing, which is partially my fault because I do nothing) must be annoying to other people as well. But that's the interesting part of characters - assuming one isn't a horrible writer, one's characters can grow and mature and change and not be stuck in a stasis.

That's why I'm excited for the time skip, I don't think anyone would be able to change in the short amount of time we've had, but I think I'll be able to tweak my characters a lot and I'm excited.

That's why I'm excited for the time skip, I don't think anyone would be able to change in the short amount of time we've had, but I think I'll be able to tweak my characters a lot and I'm excited.

OOC: If I'm honest, we should probably talk about Chemical Alley, but this isn't the appropriate place or that, we should do it on Chemical Alley's thread.

Yeah. I'm glad for it because it speeds up Conrad's rehab. I feel stuck with Raven though, because I've never been able to imagine her...well, any different. I know she either has to get better or regress, and I know any regression will lead to her (permanent) death. But sometimes I feel like as much as she loves being an agent, she might not be able to get better if she's a full time agent and assassin. I thought a little bit about sending her to the army with Mike and Conrad, but she doesn't really need discipline. Well, okay, she does need to rein in her temper. I just don't know how to deal with a future her.

OOC: I don't know. I don't ever see Raven really changing. Maybe Hope could help. I really don't know though.

OOC: I'm very excited for the time skip. Not that things are awful now, but we are running out of material I think and they need a breath of fresh air.
