Jodie, whew! Thanks for being my hiking buddy....I mean...I am so glad we had talked about it a long time ago and decided to be hiking buddies so there wouldn't be any confusion at the meet. Sorry Bonnie, I'm sure Beth or Betty would LOOOOOOOOOOVE to be your hiking buddy. Jodie, make sure Bonnie is at one end of the line and we are far, far away from her.

And something about hiking with wine glasses in hand just makes me smile!!!

What?? Not everybody does that? I thought that was normal (you can have a glass, I'll just bring a bottle along.... )

Good Morning Ladies (and Gents)

Why is it all my news lately seems to be bad news. I am just so upset right now. As you all know we have been having a ton of issues with our heating. Not to mention Dorians reoccuring ear infection. My DH was laid off on Halloween. We have gotten behind on our rent.(1/2 month) we have been paying our landlord weekly through DH's unemployment. I just started working for Tax season full time and will start getting a paycheck next week. So things were looking up. I was planning to pay off our landlord with our tax monies and trying to get on track. Yesterday around 5pm we were getting ready to go to a friends to celebrate his birthday with him. When the county sherriff knocks on our door and hands DH AN EVICTION NOTICE!!! We were both floored. I thought we had everything with her squared off. She fixed the upstairs heat and hot water and we said we could wait to have the downstairs heat fixed til they find out what they were going to do. I just don't know what to do. We have to go to court on the 18th. I have no idea where we are going to go. I have never been in this position before and DH and I are very confused and upset and we are bickering with eachother so much and it usually isn't because of anything either one of us can control. I didn't want to start an new post about this but thought I could get my rant off here and see if anyone has any suggestions. I just don't know what to do yet.


I haven't even been able to catch up on this thread and am beginning to feel so out of the loop on the DIS. I hope everyone else is getting along much better than we are. I swear as soon as we cross one hurdle 3 more pop up in front of us.

I would stick some cantaloupes or other fruite to Luis' chest until it is the size of your chest. Then force him to be measured by the lady. Next, walk around, picking out bras you like and then try them on Luis to see how they look.

OMG, I am so sorry to hear this. An eviction notice? If you have been paying weekly, and she seemed ok with that, what is she being such a witch? I am not familiar with the laws regarding eviction notices. Can you call her and tell her that you plan on catching up on the rent next week, and that an eviction notice isn't necessary? I hope someone else here knows the law better than I do and can help you out. Can you call the county and find out what your options are regarding the matter?

Is Dorian any better? If he keeps getting infections, does he possibly need tubes in his ears? That's what they had to do to my nephew, and his infections went away.

I am so sorry that all I can do is offer you {{{HUGS}}}. We're all here for you to lean on. Hopefully someone can help you out with this.

Oh Denise....I am so sorry about all of your problems. Sometimes life is so hard. Do you and dh have family nearby that you can turn to for some help? That's what family is for ya know? It sounds like the two of you just need a little time to work things out....where better to do that than within the love of your families? My prayers are with you.....try to hold onto eachother and work together....recognizing that you are sniping at eachother over little things, because of the big things, is half the battle! TALK about it!!! Work together! Keep your mind grounded and thinking clearly.....and vent here ANYTIME!!!!

I'm so sorry! Your post sneaked in while I was typing mine!

Wow! that landlord sounds very unreasonable and unstable! I would think that you could use an your defense the lack of heat and water in your residence!

Once upon a time DH owned another house with his brother - and although one of the renters was behind 3 months in his rent - the water went on a very cold New Year's Eve. We had to shell out big $$$ for a plumber because as a landlord you are required to supply an adequate working heat and water system. Find someone who knows about such laws and do some research.

I think I would also be on the phone to the landlord asking, "What gives?"

And I can tell you that in times of deep emotional stress - people sometimes have the tendency to strike and lash out at the ones they love the most. I hope you and DH can quickly work over that issue and draw closer together.

Oh Denise! I am so sorry! If you've had a decent relationship with the landlord in the past, I think I'd call her too to see what gives. Doesn't sound like she is too reasonable though if she expects you to live without heat and water.

Hmmmm... when is the meet and where exactly is it? Don't I skeer you guys too much????

We bought DS a weightlifting set for Christmas - one of those ones you attach the weights to and then you can sit down, lie down, etc., etc. It's still in the box because the guys have to move all of their hunting junk from the playroom - and they haven't gotten around to it. (Plus I think they are freaking out at having to assemble the darn thing!)

YAY Bonnie!!!! Hee hee...."no chubby Ya Yas"...now THAT would make a fun cheer!!!

Pam...I know all about clearing out a room to make room for weights!!! When I ordered my bowflex, I claimed the kids "toyroom" as MINE!!! They weren't real happy about it but they got over it!! Took me 2 weeks to clear out all of that stuff!!! Then dh assembled the bowflex when it came...slapped a screwdriver in his hand....took him a beer...batted my eyes and poof! Assembled bowflex!!! Sometimes ya just have to bat those eyes ya know? Sending you a pm about the meet! (and no...you don't really skeer us! )

Thanks all!!!! It felt so much better to get that off our chest. Today is a busy one for us since tons of people will be here for Dorians party. We opted for McDonalds party but alot of our family and friends will be back at our house before and after. It is really rough and DH and I are trying to wait til Monday before dropping the bomb on most of the people we will tell about this. We have been weighing our options since I typed earlier and think our best option is to just see how much time we can get once we go to court and leave it at that. I am not fighting to stay here any longer than we have too. We know what gives with her and of course she convienently went away for the weekend as she always does when she sends us notes or whatever. She is mean and always has been. She wants everything her way and she doesn't want to pay for it. Our other neighbor who rents from her said he just fixes it and sends the reciept with the rent. He is also looking to move because they are having almost the same issue with her. She hasn't fixed anything in there house and they are having water issues. I am going to call the Plumbing inspector on Mon and have them come out and look at the pipes and water. I am hoping this will give us something to go on and she can't keep our security type thing. Well I really need to vacume and get moving. I am going to try and ketchup on this thread tomm morning. Thanks for the Hugs I needed it today.
