hi there, as a family (12 of us going) we are looking for somewhere nice to eat to celebrate a 60th meal during our stay at dlrp

we are already going to cafe mickey and walts (for kids birthdays) but as this is an adult bd would be nice to go somewhere a bit nicer, (can't do blue lagoon as member of family claustrophobic!)

was looking at the yacht club, unless anyone can recommend anywhere nicer, not too expensive and not buffet, anyone eaten here recently whats it like? is it pricey?

I don't know anything about the Yacht Club and it doesn't seem to be mentioned much on here either.

Though I haven't tried it either, I have heard good things about the Manhattan Restaurant in the Hotel New York - so that might be another place to consider. If you haven't already, have a look on the DLP Foodguide for the reviews and menus of both places. :)

ETA - SandraVB79 has done a review of both restaurants in the Restaurant FAQ sticky. :thumbsup2

Some great dining reviews here if you are looking for a nice dining experience :)

Hmmm, well the finest restaurant is the California Grill at the DL Hotel and my favorite, but people do find this one to be pricey. It offers fresh fusion of Californian and French dishes and wine.

Next best is the Manhatten Grill. Contemporary offerings with a French flair. It is what you would expect to find in a good business hotel. And the price is not bad considering the exceptional quality.

The Steakhouse in the Village gets my vote next. Prices range from reasonable to expensive. It feels very upscale and the food is excellent. A good choiceall round.

Next up, the Yacht Club has a great selection of shellfish and some land based alternatives. Great choice if you like seafood, not so great if you do not.

Last on the list of good evening dining choices for a special meal is the Hunter's Grill at the Sequoia Lodge. This place offers excellent meals of smoked and BBQ meats served fresh off the skewer onto your plate. Rustic feeling, but a lot of fun.

In park - Walt's is excellent, and don't overlook the Silver Spur. Reasonably priced and a great selection of char grilled offerings. Our favorite in park restaurant - yum!

Whatever you do, be sure to book in advance. Also remember, DLP can source a chocolate birthday cake but they will need at least 24 hours advance notice.

I have been there and likes it a lot. Ask for a table with lake-view!

Another great "adults" restaurant is the Manhattan restaurant at Hotel New York. It's a little more expensive but it's also very nice.
You can find pictures of stuff I ate there on the restaurant threads :)
