No hoe-down for me - in fact, I am ready to head off to bed!:( I have been dragging all week! Totally wiped out!!:(

Had to work the spaghetti dinner for DD's school's after-prom committee yesterday for 5 hours. Let's just say that I dished up so much spaghetti that I skipped dinner!!:o Then DD says, "After-prom this year sounds lame, I think I'll skip it and just do the prom dance!" Grrrrrrr..... I told to go ahead and skip it - but she better have her butt home at midnight that night because she ain't running amok on her own!!

DH's friend's Dad (and also DH's friend) died and we went to the funeral home after the spaghetti dinner. Then I got up at 6:30 am this morning as DS had a Scout First Aid Meet and I got the privilege of car-pooling 4 teenage boys - let's just say the car talk was ummmmmm....... very enlightening and side splitting. (The boys were like, "You're so much more cooler than most of the Dads!" :o )

DS got the confirmation back from Texas that he is indeed a bona fide Eagle Scout - setting the ceremony up for the end of June!!:bounce:

Sadly, it's already deadline again.:( :( :(

So - what kind of tags can we give you, Marilyn???

That is so cool have different computers in the same room. DH was just saying yesterday that we should hook up the old computer so we could both do our thing at the same time.

Oh my gosh...as soon as I read the sentence about sparky I thought of calling you Sparky but then the next sentence you wrote what I was thinking....Too weird.

I really like Funky Marilyn.....

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: How cool! Congrats to DS.

Sounds like you have been very busy Pam.

Betty, Funky Marilyn. LOL

Not sure what tag Pam and Betty. I am sure one will pop up eventually that I want. The way I stick my foot in my mouth at times ensures that I will get a new one.

Unfortunately or fortunately we have 6 computers in this house. That is what I get for having an IT Geek living in the house.....

Howdy Pam. Congratulations on your Eagle Scout!!! We are working on After Prom here also.

Oh Marilyn, we could call you Funky Foot in Mouth Marilyn......oh you don't like that one. I will keep thinking about a new name for you, but be careful because Jay is the one that seems to get the Tag Fairies' attention. Fortunately for me, they usually ignore anything that I say or do.

I love the new computer....it is so fast. DS couldn't believe how slow our old one was. I swear it took a good 20 to 40 seconds for the internet to come up after we clicked on the icon. I had stopped playing Links, which I love, because of the wait time between shots. Now it is so fast it is unbelievable! I can play golf vicariously through my Links game again.

I read about the after prom plans you were making. What a fun time for kids now. We didn't have anything like that when we were their age. Prom! Wow. DS went to 5 proms! None of them his! He kept getting asked by girls to take them. If I had all that money now spent on tuxedos, limos, flowers, etc, I could retire. Funny thing is (not so funny), he didn't go to his own cause he dropped out of HS. But, bless his pea pickin heart, he decided on his own to get his GED, and he has a great job, new home, and is in the process of buying a piece of property to rehab and sell. Thank the Lord he decided to take the right turn in the road.

Marilyn, I so love hearing about your DS. He sounds like the free spirit that my DD is. I love her dearly but she really has a zest for life that doesn't include the love of education. She is so different from my DS who follows every rule and thinks everything through. DD goes for the most adventure. I know she will be successful someday, but I know that it may be a struggle and it is so hard to be the mom who has to let that type of child learn lessons on their own. I once had a preschool teacher say this to me, "You have heard about the person who marches to the beat of a different drum?" I responded with a yes. Then she told me, "Allison is the drummer" That teacher was so right.

Marilyn, you are a wonderful mother and grandmother. I just hope someday, I can be as proud as you are. You are blessed.

Well, the wine I drank with dinner is finally making me sleepy. So good night everyone......

Betty, Joe probably handed down his drum to Allison. One day we can chat about what that kid put me through, and how it made him stronger to learn on his own.

Have a good nights sleep Betty. Thanks for chatting with me.

{{HUGS}}

Whew! Darn bunch of mothy yayas!

Congrats Pam on DS's accomplishment!

I like the Apolo face picture.

You all are telepathic, I had Chinese for lunch today. See, Elaine and I have these powers of suggestion, I have Chinese for lunch, y'all have Chinese for dinner. So, does this mean if Elaine does WDW in December, we will all follow?

Tags for Marilyn? Here are some:

Madame of the Grand Salon
Keeper of the Holy Underpants
Parade High Kicker
World's Best Babcia (sp.?)
Loves her little Nushie

Hmmm....let me think some more

I feel a late night Summer Ya Ya DISmeet chat is going to happen. Have I mentioned how much I am looking forward to this?

Really going to bed now.....

We just got back from watching "Bringing Down the House". Hilarious movie, and not at all what you would expect. Not appropriate for kids though. There were a couple of scenes that I cringed because DD was there.

Just watched the movie on channel 9...ugh, can't remember the name..what a tearjerker.. ..what a wuss...:o

Where you watching a movie too, Bonnie??
How'd your day go??:)
Heard you were with a disser today..:smooth:

Bonnie! Some good tag suggestions! I love the first three! LOL Betty was right, I need something that isn't fuddy duddy and those three fit the bill.

I have a Babcia one now, which I want to keep. The lime green sherbert on the deck is starting to sound like I am in a rocking chair out there! :p

Who was in the movie you saw? I am move impaired.

Shep, what was the tear jerker about?

Bonnie! In case you missed my ketchup from PAGES back...;)...thanks for explaining to the left-out Yayas that the BURLESQUE photo was of the ELDER Yayas ANNNNND...correctomundo...FONZIE...although I noticed Kim answered that correctly too...hmmph. I'M BONNIE'S PADAWAN, Kim...no horning in.;)
