Just a quick pop in! I read Liz's fabulous catch up!! So I'll echo her sentiments!! pd for Nancy's DH, great on the job RM, wonderful weight loss Kristy, Todd and Amanda have beautiful kids, Sherry has a great do and I don't iron clothes let alone my hair!, Boo run off and elope and then have a party with a bright floral print!!, Elaine is getting a new HOME...I may do that in a few years, Pams package arrived! we are all ready for tomorrow, Beth those aren't senior moments they are my pregnant moments rubbing off, TC great commerical for DVC!! Now for a VENT:
My ob today tells me we need to schedule my C-section. I told him that no I didn't want a planned c-section but I wanted a VBAC, he shook his head and then rather nastily told me I had to sign papers saying that he wasn't responsible for a ruptured uterus and that 50% of those who have ruptures die along with their babies. That rupture occurs roughly 1 to 5% of the time and that I was risking it. He also said he WOULD NOT induce if I needed it, he would take me stright to c-section because of the possiblility of rupture. It was like he was telling me what a horrible person I was for not just letting him do his cutting and getting on with it! I have read the statistics on rupture I have talked to numerous other people (including a bunch her on the dis) and I really want to give it a go. I cried all the way home because he made me feel so bad about my decsision. My family is by me and wants me to do what I think is best. I'm not opposed to a c-section if it is necessary but I want to avoid it if at all possible! Anyway, I'm better now and I'm going to stick with my convictions, however, if I could pick another dr. now I would! So I won't use him for my next one!!!!! But on the positive side he didn't mention that I've gained 20 pounds total!! And I ate a good lunch and had a good blood sugar of 103 this afternoon.

I have finished 3 of my comprehensive exam questions and now I need to work on the fourth. I want to go to Busch Gardens on Sunday so I need to get it done tonight so I can lay carpet on Saturday before the shower.

Oh Beth..you asked if I was high risk...I wasn't (who knows now with the GD) and the did the first 3 ultrasounds because the baby wouldn't cooperate. On the third he finally did! The one yesterday was a cursory ultrasound for the dr. who will be treating my gd. Either that machine was on magnify or this kid has on whopper of a melon!!!

One tuckered Yaya here.....so no ketchup tonight.
Thank your for all the good wishes.
Surgery went well. the whole tumor was removed along with one side of the thyroid.
His voice is bad again.....because of moving the nerve around...hopefully it will improve quickly.
An hour drive, 2 hour presurgery, 4 hour surgery , 2 hours recovery, 2 1/2 hours visiting him in the room, 1 1/2 hour drive home in Friday night traffic, 1/2 hour making phone calls.....off to sleep I go.

Sounds like it was a very long day for you Nancy and your dh. Good to hear the surgery is over and now hopefully a quick road to recovery
Tara dont let your dr bully into something. Its his job to give you advise and your job to make an informed decision. There is nothing wrong with trying for a vbac and since your totally open to the c-sec if needed I dont see why he is having such a problem. Sorry I wont be hear for your shower. I think we are going to down to Galveston or Kemah maybe. However Evan and Connor will be us with so that will limit what we can do.
I think we are getting a digital camera for our gift to each other. These are the ones I was looking at in the circuit city website:

Elaine I think DVC is an awesome idea for you. You go so often and if your pretty flexible about where you stay getting a room should be easy. I know you dont need a 2 bdrm but the ones at OKW are so great. They are HUGE--my 2 oldest loved it when we stayed in one.

Nancy, I'm so glad you were able to post last night!! I went to bed worried that we hadn't heard but reminding myself that it was a long drive and might have been a long surgery. So thankful to hear it went well and they got it all. Praying for a speedy recovery and some well-deserved rest for you!

Tara, that Dr of yours is what Kimmie would call a big old poopie head!!! Stick to your guns, girl! I'm with ya on your decision to try to go naturally rather than just start cutting. Although if his head is really THAT big??!!! Ouch!!!

Shep is using Ou de Grass now?!! LOL!!! With all the rain we've had, I bet the lawns are gorgeous now!

Amanda, have fun with the landscaping at church! There were so many flowers left over after Easter (we always get potted ones) that our building committee planted them and our church grounds look sooo much nicer now! Trees are barely budding still, but all these tulips and hyacinths sure brighten up the place!!

Good news for the Chicago folks--I found a new brand of transfer paper online and it arrived yesterday. Tried it out last night and it's the best I've ever used!! Heading for the craft store for more t-shirts today. I got lucky and they are on sale this week!!!!! So we will still have our fun shirts for the trip!

Off to dry my hair and see if I can make myself look presentable. Have a great day and I'll "see" some of you at the shower later!

Deena sneated!!! Hey girl, how are ya?!! You are soooo right about the OKW 2 bdrm!! I know it's a 1 bdrm with a studio and we have stayed in both. Can't get over how much room there is!! Hate the limit on number of people because there there seemed to be room for at least 2 more adults and several kids too! LOL, Tara, flat irons are NOT the same thing as the go go boot era. They are about 1" wide or so and are great! I am doing a flipy hairstyle today with mine.

Thanks Deena, I have heard great things about OKW's 1 and 2 bedrooms. I heard they were huge! I stayed there once at a Studio and even that was very nice!! Beatuiful place Oh and I don't know anything specifically about those cameras but Nikon, Olympus and Kodak make good digital cameras. Sony, Canon, & Fuji are good too. Just pick which you feel most comfortable with

Deena...we have the Olympus C5050 and LOVE it...however unless you know all the little gadgets and features..you might want to go with a smaller one. I'm STILL learning stuff on this one and have had it for over a year now.

Elaine how do you get the flippy with a flat iron?? Everything I try a flippy with my brush and hairdryer it flops and flips back under maybe I need a flat iron too *hmm..more shopping*

My doc always says "It's your body"......gotta agree on that

Sounds like everybody has lots of plans today! It usre is nice here. I woke up this morning to hail and lots of thunder, but it sure has turned into a very nice day!!

I am home unfortunately due to the test from yesterday. I have lots of pain in the ankle....funny thing is, the injection was supposed to make that all go away!! Oh, well!!! One more injection next week and we will see what hapens from there.

It looks like I will be at the DIS meet Friday.....limping or not!! But I am gonna be late! I really want to meet everybody!! SO I am going to do my best!!! Looking forward to a great evening!!!

Tara, good luck with your doc. That is really not fun when you already have enough stress and have to deal with attitude to boot! I am so happy I love my doc. I jsut makes things so much easier...and easier to trust!
