Well folks,

Nearly at the half way mark already :(

Today's plans were to hit Hollywood Studios first thing, as my mum and dad were going to keep Mollie for a bit then we would do some shopping.

Today is EMH morning at the Studios so not sure if it would be busy or not.

To be honest, it wasn't really. We got in to the park at around 8:00am. This was the morning that were going to fit things in that the Monster wouldn't really do.

It was also nice to have a bit of time to ourselves in the parks. First port of call today...Toy Story Mania to get our fast passes. It was about 8:20am and our fast passes were to return at 10:30am-11:30am, so we had plenty of time. The queue was already showing about a 45 minute wait.

We decided to head down to Rock'n'Rollercoaster! This is my absolute favourite thrill ride in all of the parks. To think I've been going for years and I'd only went on this for the first time a couple of years ago.

Mallinda's not really one for rollercoasters so today is SINGLE RIDER DAY! There's nothing like walking up to the entrance with the Aerosmith music blaring. I think it helps that I'm a huge Aerosmith fan.

I head up to the single rider entrance but it looks deserted. I ask the CM if single rider is being used and she says yes,so I fire past everyone in the queue, flipping the bird at them....

Well not really, I just walked up the side of the queue that other people were in and moved along the side, sheepishly. It was more or less a walk on. Or a sit on, as it's a rollercoaster and there's cars involved....anyhoo. Looks like no one wanted to sit next to me as I was in a car by myself. Mallinda just sat outside the entrance waiting for me to wobble out.

I had the 'Sweet Emotion' car, which was good but I preferred the 'Back in the Saddle' car. I had a very quick look in the shop as I came out but was conscious of the fact that I had left Mallinda waiting. I like the fact that after you come off RnR they make you walk down a ramp to come out of the attraction, which led to me trailing from left to right then out the door.

Boy it was sunny, I better put my shades on. I take my shades out of my pocket and one of the lenses has popped out. Great! Lucky for me, I'm cheap! And so are my sunglasses. I just pop the lens back in and we're off.

We then decide to head for something to eat (yes in America, I know!) and all of a sudden this random tourist jumps out in front of my camera. She then starts to speak to me and I realise that, this person is actually my wife!

We take a wander over to the ABC Commissary and...it's closed! That's right, closed. I don't know if this happens in the summer, but I have noticed in September that people don't start eating till 11am. Or that's what Disney assumes. OK ABC is closed. Let's go to a stand and get a drink as it's pretty hot. CLOSED! Pizza Planet. CLOSED! Ah well no biggie. I could stand to lose some weight on this trip.

We then see a couple of crazy characters getting escorted to the security offices. Apparently they were drinking the water of the lagoon at Fantasmic!?

One then he tried to run for it...
sdc12355oi.jpg

But was then tasered. I haven't included this photo but to explain, he looked a bit like a....hot dog!

I'll get my coat!

A photo of ABC. So closed, yet so far!

A lot of people take photos of food in their trip reports. I take photos of menus. I mean where else could you get a burger called The Betty!?

We take a walk down past Sci-Fi and notice Star Tours is a 5 minute wait! We love 5 minute waits.
sdc12359i.jpg

That's the last time I let Mallinda drive. Some of the robots need C3-PR!
sdc12360.jpg

We wait to board our flight, and think it can't be any worse than coming here. Again another walk on.
sdc12361.jpg

I like Star Tours but could do with an update, which I know is coming. An interesting thing is, they actually now play announcements to do with the future version that's coming.

We then went to Muppet Vision 3D which was practically empty. They even said 'sit where you like'. I see Muppets nearly everytime I go and I never get bored of it. I think it's also because it brings back memories of the original MGM Studios, with the backlot tour and Dick Tracy show. Those were certainly the days. Watching them draw the Lion King was a fantastic sight to see.

After we exit, I take a look in the Muppet shop, and like every other shop in Disney, it seems to be taken over by Jonas/Hannah Montana/Fairies etc, which is a tad disappointing but hey ho. I'm then stopped by a woman asking me to explain what the Kermit the Frog t-shirt means – it says 'I'm a real fly guy' and before I have time to answer she laughs and says 'it's because he's a frog
, isn't it'...that's your future Who Wants To Be A Millionaire winner right there!

After coming out of the shop, we're all of a sudden back in Scotland!

sdc12365.jpg

We then head over towards Toy Story Mania to use our fast passes, where the fast pass time (it's about 10:30am) has jumped up to 7:30pm! Hey ho, dems de breaks. We hop on in and I forget the last time I had a good wrist work out like this!

After we're out we head in to One Man's Dream. I've always wanted to see this when I've been in the Studios and always forget to do it. Seen as we were here by ourselves, we decided to pop in. I love all the dioramas of all the park icons and checking out all the retro merchandise towards the bottom of the museum. We then head inside and watch the movie. I have to say this is a very emotional movie and it's very moving. It's easy to forget about Disney and how it came to be, but this really hits it home. A definite favourite of mine.

It's about 11:00am, so we head over to the ABC Commissary, and get something before getting picked up. I had the Fish Sticks (amusingly they're referred to on the receipt as Fish and Chips) and Mallinda has the Cheeseburger.

We then text my mum and dad to come pick us up. It'll be a few minutes so we take a stroll towards the exit when we see High School Musical! I love High School Musical!!!!!!! We watch it for about five minutes before I'm ready to grab someone's fan and stick my face in it. We then hop in one of the shops near the exit as it's getting hot. We then head out to the pick up point to retrieve the Monster!

Today is now SHOPPING DAY!!!!! Yay! The plan of action is to head up to Florida Mall. We usually have a good look around the Florida Mall but don't usually really buy anything, and today...was no different.

We headed in and decided to split up. We headed down to the M&M shop where there were quite a few cheap t-shirts but unfortunately not my size.
sdc12366.jpg

We looked about for a bit but ended up not really buying anything. Last year we bought Mollie one of the big Orange cuddly toys.

We then headed up towards the Disney store. The only thing that pee's me off about the Florida Mall and the other shopping areas are those damn stalls that are everywhere. Don't they realise i've just blinged my phone, ironed my shirt with steam and bought a light up LED belt! It's so inconsiderate, holmes!

The Disney Store has a good few bargains. Mallinda picks up a trouser and top My Friends Tigger and Pooh set, for like $9. And we get Mollie a cuddly rocket from Little Einsteins, which at 99c is just a snip! Don't think we really bought anything else in there.

We then headed over to the Yankee Candle shop where we picked up a few tarts. The candles were nice as well ;) We like picking up the different kinds that you don't really get here. We then go for a walk where we continuously bump in to the parentals. At one point, even banging in to them walking out of a shop. I take a look in a few music shops but we kind of come to the conclusion that it's not as good as it usually is, so we opt to instead head to Premium! Come on, Pac Sun!

On the way down from the Florida Mall, we pop in to Marshalls next to Target, where my mum picks up a small black pair of shows for the Monster, and I pick up a couple of DC's jumpers at $19.99. Total bargain, considering you'd pay about £50 and up here. Marshalls is similar to TJ Maxx and Ross, but I like the fact they actually had brand sections so you didn't have to rake about, for example, DC and Hurley had their own clothes section.

My mum and dad decide to go for a look in the dollar store so I open up the car and get Mollie out of the heat. It is at this point, that I think to myself, I'm sitting in front of a jeep in an empty car park. The only thing stopping me taking it for a hurl was the 1 year old baby in the back. Secretly, I think she was willing me on to floor it, but I resisted.

My mum and dad then come over and we're off heading down to the Premium Outlets. It's certainly a hot one today (when is it not?).

Then we arrive at Premium Outlets where it's changed a bit since I was last there. Quite a bit in fact, considering it was only a year ago since we were there. There's now an enclosed car park opposite the outlets and new condominiums. There's also a good play park that the Monster really enjoys over the holiday.

We've not really had any dinner so just head to food court for some good ol' bourbon chicken. Love the stuff.

I'm wearing a Goonies t-shirt and the girl serving behind the said she loved my t-shirt and it was one of her favourite movies. The people working here were really nice. We both had the meals where you could get two sides and rice. Thing it was about $8 each so pretty good I thought. The Monster was sleeping so we managed to get in a few bites, while she was kipped. My parents then got the same.

We then went for a look around a few of the shops and picked up some bits and pieces from Carter's. We also picked up some clothes from Gymboree. I then went for a look in the music shop at Premium, which is extortionate!

We then went for a look for the parentals and headed towards the play park.
sdc12368.jpg

The play park at Premium is really good, but it's a bit odd that it's right next to a main road with an opening in the fence so you just need to keep an eye on the kids there.

I went over to the ice cream vending machines to get...an ice cream. Fired in my $2.50 and chose an ice cream sandwich so Mollie could have a bit. Imagine my surprise when I get two instead of one! Booyah, ice cream all round! :D

We then headed over to the car park and headed home.We headed back to the resort and I think we picked up something from the food court and got the monster settled for the night.

Another great day. Love the names of the burgers. All my favourite shows. Think it would have to be the McSteamy from Gray's Anatomy. :)

Another really great day.:thumbsup2

One Man's Dream also makes me feel very emotional - I agree that it's so easy to forget that, apart from Walt's vision, WDW would not exist today. We visit this wonderful attraction every time we visit.

I always wanted to see it and was very happy I did. As you say, it's so easy to forget that it came purely from a father that wanted a place that he could spend time with his kids at.
