<<<<<<<I also got that pin today, booked POP for october (need two rooms)saved over 400.00. I would also have been major league bummed if all I got was a PIN for a 5% savings......

So today after getting my big 5% pin via e-mail, my DH comes in the with the mail.....and a big flyer from Disney....."Is this what you are looking for?" he says...yep, my friends, a flyer, announcing Adventures and Disney Cruise Line European trips....no discounts, nada.

Arrrggg.....I tell you, they are monitoring my house and my posts here and taunting me :rotfl:. It is that Pal Mickey, I think he is a two-way radio ;)

I got the 5% as well and LAUGHED AND LAUGHED...Disney is going to have to do better than that for me to visit this year!

You have to get on Disney's "radar" so to speak. I got my first pin last year. Start by doing things like going to the Disney web site signing in creating a vacation itenerary and saving it. Ordering the free park maps on line to be mailed free of charge to your house (I believe they allow you to do this once every 6 months so if you've already done it within the time period you'll have to wait to do it again). Request the free Disney vacation planing dvd thing, etc. Once Disney sees your interest in vacationing with them, they already have your info from the items you've requested, they will start to offer you these discounts. Once you use a pin usually they'll continue to offer you some sort of pin each year after that. Although nothing is ever guaranteed. So that's the only advice I can give is get your info into Disney's contact system and wait and see. Perhaps a more seasoned DIS member might have more for ya? Good luck! :)

I also should mention that sometimes Disney does not mail/email you the pin as was the case for me last year. Sometimes they simply just attach a pin to your name. So it's always wise to CALL the reservation line and speak with a CM who can check to see if there is a pin attached to your name. If there is they will tell you right then and apply it to your reservation at that time. Had I not called and found out (I was going to just book it online through web site) I would have not known about the pin and the web site would NOT have applied it to my reservation. Just thought you might wanna know.

I have to agree that the 5% discount is absolutely laughable. Why did they even bother with that?:rolleyes1

now that's just really sad!! I mean, come on . . . is it even worth spending the time to create the email promotion for 5%????

Well they have been saying that they are cutting back on the discounts....I hope this isn't the new trend :rotfl:! I never ever get pins no matter what I do, so I have to rely on good public codes. I have FD booked for this summer , but I hope 5% won't be the best they can do next year. That one is right up there with the DV 3x offer on all spending ABOVE $3000 each month. Give me a break!

5% that is a joke. I can't believe they paid someone the time to type and design that offer and send it out, surely no one would fall for that.

I received the 5% "kick in the shins" too...but luckily, the one in my email box was addressed to someone I have never even heard of :lmao:

I got a PIN for 5% savings for rooms booked for May. Totally makes sense since all my saved trip itineraries are for December.

 I got that lousy pin, too!!! I kept thinking I was reading it wrong..I'm glad I wasn 't the only one who thought it was ridiculous!!

I have done all of these things (Every year I might add) to no avail:sad2:...I just end up booking at regular price or any specials they have going on at the time. I also called to see if there was a pin attached to my name and got a big fat NO :headache:...so I don't know, I guess I am just meant to pay full price

I got the 40% PIN over a week ago. My TA emailed me this morning that some of her clients got the 5% and 10% we were the only ones that got 40% off.

Someone some where will be grateful to have a 5%discount IF the only rates they KNEW about were for rack rate only:surfweb:
