I was thankful when the phone rang this morning. It saved me from a horrible dream. I will share it with you.

I was finally going on my solo trip. But, when I got to MCO, I looked around to find the correct path to the ME check-in counter only in my horror, I saw a lady that looked familiar, which turned out to be my father's wife, Vea, and then I spotted my Dad. My off handed comment about, "You guys should join me at WDW" had inspired them to actually join me. To make matters worse they had no hotel booked and were planning to just "walk up" to a Disney hotel and get a room. :scared1: My father has never been much of a planner when it comes to hotels. I was immediately ticked off that I had done this to myself. But, even though I just wanted to cry, I couldn't because Amanda Davis, a local news anchor, and a news team were following them. They were following up on Vea's recent windfall. She had won this really odd Oprah like community service award that was done through Great American Country tv. See Vea had given away a ton of tomatoes to the community and only kept one for herself and she had recently suffered a stroke, so Terri Clark, one of my favorite country music artists, had dressed up as Dolly Parton and they awarded the money to her on tv in some sort of Oprah like gift thing. Anyway, no sooner do I get to POR than I find that Corey has beat me to the hotel as a surprise. I told her about finding Dad & Vea at the airport and how I was disappointed to know that I wouldn't get my solo trip in the way that I had been dreaming of. She immediately said, let me call Mom, which was because her mom was going to come surprise me too. :rolleyes1 I explained that I was thrilled to see her, but OMG, the dream of vacationing with Dad and Vea is one that is really more of a nightmare! They had no park tickets or ADR's and mine were certainly shot now. :headache: I was crying in the dream when I realized that I didn't have a phone number for Mike and that he would think that I just blew him off, when I really wanted to meet him. I was about to call Rick to tell him the story too. I had to make new ADR's and just knew that nothing that my Dad & Vea would want to eat would be available. I was soooooo sad. :sad1:

Thank God for early morning phone calls!

Geez, only Disney type dream I have is that I missed my flight. You're was a doozy! :lmao:

I had pizza for dinner around 6pm. I had sugar free butter pecan ice cream around 8pm. I had Sprite Zero and Diet Green Tea throughout the evening. I didn't get to bed until 3:30am because Corey took 5 hours or so to get her taxes done online....yesterday was the only day that she would have had the time to do them before the 15th due to her upcoming travel schedule.

For a little more backstory on just how odd it would be for my Dad and Vea to pop up at MCO....
While my father and I are close, we are not the kind of people that need to talk every week to feel that way. We talk every few months and that's fine. I haven't seen him in over a year. He and Vea both smoke and my asthma just can't take being in his house. So, if Corey and I go down, we have to board the dogs and get a hotel room....oh, and Corey has asthma too. When we go to the house, we know that when we return to the hotel room that we must immediately strip and put the smokey clothes in airtight bags and immediately shower. They live less than 3 hours from here! They have never come to see me in the entire time that I have lived up here. I have been up here since 1992.
My father never plans for any vacations and I have only known him to make one flight in the time that he has been outside of the military and that was for an army buddy's funeral. My Dad hates crowds and prefers to spend time at home or if he goes anywhere it's usually up to Pigeon Forge.

Needless to say, that was one odd dream!

I have dreams fairly regularly that I'm in a Disney theme park. The layout of the park I'm in is always different and never matches that of a real park. Some of the attractions are the same, though. I'd say I have one of those dreams about once a week. (My flying dreams are almost nightly, though.)

My last Disney nightmare was three days ago..I dreamt I was escorted out of the park for being topless:scared1: :scared1: . I was trying to shelter myself in a doorway, but a friendly CM came up to chat and noticed my state of undress!!! eeekkkk

Not enough spicy food to explain that!

Goodness! That was one involved dream! (Rosie! :scared1: ).

I'm a complete non-romantic when it comes to dreams. I subscribe to the theory that our dreams are products of electrical stimulation that occurs in the brain while we are sleeing. Our brain sorts those stimuli into familiar patterns (thought) and the result is whatever we dream. Sometimes our dreams are sorted based on our recent thoughts, sometimes they aren't. Sometimes the computer that is our brain just arrays them in any order (gotta love binary yes) and the dream that is the result makes no sense.

I don't often remember my dreams, but do wake as a result of them. Sometimes they are not nice, and sometimes they are.

I've had plenty of Disney related dreams, for some reason. LOL. My most memorable one is WAY TOO LONG to try and share here, but the Cliff's Notes are this: Flew to MCO, took rental car with sister to DW, had to drive through Georgetown University (Yeah, getting weird!), ran into some random church for their Christmas service (it was April), saw someone murdered (Yep, not getting better), ran through downtown DC, found Magic Kingdom (still not getting better!) tryed to get a t-shirt I bought from somewhere along the line into the Kingdom, but they wouldn't let us in, and we had to go home!!

Thank goodness when I woke up, I still had a month to go before we left!!

Your dream though TNP put it to shame, never had a Dolly Parton issue in my dreams though....:)

Lindy....DH and I took our older kids to WDW for the first time when I was 6 mos. pregnant w/the 3rd...I'm a compulsive planner (I've gotta have soemthing to look forward to!) and had nightmares for weeks prior to the trip that I had forgotten our tickets, or a stoller, or we got there and the hotel was a dump (yeah right, on Disney property???)
I was always thankful when I woke up!!!
As one of my favorite singers says, "Breathe in, breathe out, move on" :goodvibes

I have had Disney nightmares where we didn't bring our lanyards or pins (we trade hundreds of pins on our trips - forgetting them would be bad!).

I have had nightmares where I didn't bring a suitcase of clothes (BUT I had my pin lanyard!).;)

I have had a nightmare where we decided to go months before our ressie and ended up getting there and having no money. :scared1:

I have had a nightmare where I got on a bus and it drove away without DS and DH and I was sure I would never find them again.

I have had a nightmare where AKL was set up like a cross between a hurricane shelter and a furniture store. There were no walls - the rooms were just little "areas" with an armoire and a bed. :scared:

I had another nightmare where we were dropped off at some offsite hotel that was decorated like a brothel. They kept telling us it was AKL and we should sit down and relax. They were kind of holding us captive, and I was freaking out!

I had yet another one where our room used to be some sort of lounge or common area so the walls were only waist high. People coming off the elevators would walk in and plop down. One woman was looking through my suitcase!

We usually have a trip in the works so there is always some new horror to dream about! :rotfl2:
