The World Series and WDW

Now that the Red Sox will be in the World Series, and we arrive Saturday I know DH will be looking for places to watch at least some of each game. Other than SPN, the big screen at POR or our room, does anyone have any suggestions of a fun place to watch the games?:thewave:

My family loves to go to the All-Star Cafe over at Wide World of Sports to watch the games while we're there. Since it's off the beaten path, sometimes it's easier to get a table than at ESPN.

We once spent about 6 hours at a table in ESPN for the '98 or '99 World Series...whichever one the Marlins won. Lots of fun.

I never thought of that and we've never been over there. Do they stay open late? Thanks for the tip.

The official Disney site says:

"The Official All-Star Café® is open 11:30 am to 9:00 pm daily. Subject to change based on event days. "

So maybe for World Series they'd stay open later. It sure seems like we've been there later than that, but then who looks at a clock on vacation? You could probably call and find out specific hours for the nights of the Series while you're there.

We watched it last year at WL in the bar next to AP. It was fun not rowdy we got drinks & appt's. Talked & met some nice people.

Just had to chime in that we are from Boston and we are sooooo excited!!!! Everyone is walking around here with bags under their eyes from all the last nights!

I think I like the WL idea even better. I know we'll be watching from POR Sat. but WL Sun, sounds like a plan.

SRU: Keep those Baltimore fingers crossed. The Cardinals are a tough team.

Anto to think I've been using oil of olay for a month to get rid of those bags. Just imagine how I'd look if I hadn't.

Definitely, GO CARDS!!!!!!

For the sake of baseball history, it would be nice to see the Sox win. But.......I hate to tell you, the Cards are THE team this year. Should be a great Series!! Wish I was watching it in Disney!!

angielyn, I gree with you. The Cards have the best record in baseball this year. But there is still a quiet grudge between these 2 teams. Nothing like the Yankees, but the Cards have denied us before. May the best team win!
