It looks like a lot was taken from the movies as opposed to the books. I'm a big fan of the books but have always thought the movies failed to capture the charm of the books. If someone went there and had not read the books or had only seen the movies I think you would get a different impression then someone who knew and preferred the books. It does look smaller then I had expected too. I'm thinking the new ride is going to pretty much based on the movies, all the character holograms or whatever they are, are played by the movie actors. That doesn't thrill me but I understand why they did that.
you know, I did feel that way too, but then I figured that Universal is a theme park about movies, not books, and so it makes sense for them to concentrate on the sets and actors from the movies, and not so much on the books. A little disappointing for big book fans (especially concerning the frog choir...ugh), but to me at least, understandable.
