I am aggravated that a german born archiect was awarded the design that won.

He was born in Poland and came over on a ship with his parents who were holocaust survivors. He grew up in the Bronx.

I really like the design and I think it's rather cool that the guy that designed it came over on a ship with his parents to start a new life here in the USA. He grew up in the Bronx and watched the originals being built and really made something of himself. Being that our country was built up by all our ancestors, who were all immigrants at one point(except for American Indians, of course!), it' so *American* to me that he came from the backround that he did. He's an American success story and I think it's great!
