My husband and I have been dreaming of staying at the Wilderness Lodge and Celebrating our 25th anniversary in 2010! I really did not think it would ever happen but it looks like it is going to! We reserved rooms at the LODGE for 5 nights in January 2010 and tonight my best friend (she is my niece by marraige also) and I will be paying our deposit! There will be 4 adults and two children going unless other family members decide to go also. I am so excited I can't contain myself!:cool1:

I look forward to sharing ideas with all of you and can't wait to be greated with "Welcome Home!"

I do have one quick question. Does anybody know what time the Electrical Pagent Passes WL on friday night in January? I found a list of times but it was for the summer when the parks stay open late. Thanks in advance for your help! :wave2:

I don't have any answers, but congratulations. :flower3: We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a stay at the Lodge in Feb. 2008. It is our favorite hotel ever now, and I wish we were going back.

We were the flag family last month, on 12/23. We had to report to the lobby at 8:15 a.m. It was a wonderful experience! It does interfere with being able to be at the parks at opening, but we didn't mind b/c we were there for 10 days. Ask when you check in if any days are open.

Thank you! So, if I have an ADR at WCC at 8:45, I'm guessing that's not enough time? I don't think I will change the ADR on the off chance that we would be selected. But, I'm curious about how long this event usually lasts.

For those who have been asking about the bunk beds, I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they fit someone up to 4'10".

That would be plenty of time. The whole ceremony took about 20 minutes. After, Ranger Don told us we could help ourselves to breakfast on the club level floor, which was nice. You could just say no thanks and head to your ressie at WCC.

How is the room service at the WL? Is it any good? I checked the menu on Allears but it is from 2007. Also, do they offer this same room service if you stay at VWL?

Thanks!

When we were at WL in Dec. 08 the electrical water pageant came by the resort at 9:30 every night. Hope this helps.

I have slept in a bunk bed at WL before and I am 5'6" and was comfortable and my nephews have slept in them as well and they are over six foot and they didn't complain, just watch your head when you sit up on the bottom bunk.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but my tired eyes can't go through 181 pages!

We are going to WDW for our first visit in April and thanks to the 4/3 deal, we are staying at WL. We have booked a wood view bunk beds room. From the description at the front I am a little confused. Does this just mean we will get a bb room and not necessarily a wood view? I'd like to request a room over the otter pond when we get there, but don't want to request something we don't have a hope of getting. Thanks.

Also, do I have to wait until check in to make that request?

If you booked a woods view bb room that is what you will get. A room that has bb's that also has a woods view.

If you want to request a room that over looks the otter pond you should call back disney reservations and have them add your request directly to your reservation. When you check in you should also ask to see if your request was meet.

Hello everyone, this will be our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge. We have admired this resort for a long time and we look forward to staying here. We will be there Aug. 30th thru Sept.6th. I have booked a courtyard view room but from what I see on this board, that could mean a lot of things. I want to have a nice view of the courtyard, be fairly close to the pool and to the Roaring Forks food court. I will be in an ECV as well. Any suggestions about what to request? I did request inner courtyard. Is it fairly easy to get around in an ECV at the WL? I will only need it in the parks, but will be renting one off site. I look forward to keeping up with this thread in the coming months.TIA for any help you can be.

Using the WL room locations map on the very first page of this thread, the Roaring Forks is located under 035, 037, 039, 041. This is also where you would be able to exit the building into the courtyard area. I don't feel like you will find it difficult to navigate an ECV around the WL. They have pretty open foot traffic areas.:thumbsup2

Welcome. The last 4 times we stayed there I was in an ecv as well. it is very open and easy to navigate. Just about any place in the resort can be gotten to easily, including a visit to the villas, should you wish.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. I usually plugged it in to a plug in the hallway or asked for it to be plugged in behind the front desk area. No problems ever.

Have fun...

Yes, when were last there I remember distinctly that they did have soy milk.

If you only need one bed, I would recommend requesting a handicapped accessible room. We did not need one, but we were upgraded to one on the first floor with a courtyard view. I believe it was 1035. We were literally 20 seconds from Roaring Forks and right near the door to the pool. We could have walked from our patio door to the pool if we wanted to (there are lots of bushes though, so we didn't feel like we should do that) At any rate, it was a great room. It was nice being close to the boat as well. We were further away from the buses, but it was not intolerable. You'll have no trouble getting around in your ECV at the lodge. Have fun and enjoy!

P.S. This is my 2,000th post!! YAY!!!

:) Just back from 7 nights at the Lodge. It was our first deluxe and wow, it really is a great place to stay!!

A couple brief observations. I have never, in all my trips, met the most consistently Magical CMs as I did at WL. Every single cast member we encountered went out of their way to make our experience special.

The Lodge itself is gorgeous. I looked at millions of pictures before I left and the funny thing is, I think it looked smaller in real life. It is very, very cozy. Our room was 1028 (first floor walked out to the otter pond although we never saw any otter ;) just ducks! We were about 30 feet from Roaring Forks which was very convenient for refilling mugs and grabbing some food and taking it back to the room. It was also not a long walk to the buses either. It was closer to the boat dock but because it was so darn cold when we were there, we only took the boat twice - once home from MK and once over to Fort Wilderness for the HDDR.

Bus transportation was either great or horrible. On Monday, Jan. 19, we waited almost 50 minutes for a MK bus. We saw 2 DTD buses, 3 Epcot buses, 3 AK buses and 2 DHS buses all come and go. We had to ask two different bus drivers to radio for a MK bus before one finally came. Transportation BACK to the Lodge was pretty good 99% of the time.

I have to say, if I could have figured out a way to pack up my WL bed pillow, I'd be sleeping on one at home!! They are THE most wonderful pillows I have ever slept on!

If anyone has any questions - please feel free to ask :)

We are checking into the Wilderness Lodge one month from today. :cool1:

We have been planning a Disney cruise with my brother and two sisters and their families for the past 8 months and so DS10 and DD7 have been going wild with anticipation and planning things to do with their cousins. :grouphug:

What they don't know is that we are spending 5 nights at WL before the cruise. We did Disneyland almost 3 years ago but none of us have ever been to WDW, so I'm really looking forward to this. :goodvibes

We have a courtyard view bunkbed room booked. Anyone know where these rooms are located?

John

Can anyone tell me if WL has the IHome Ipod docking alarm clocks? I saw them mentioned as being at the other deluxe resorts.

Also, did I read correctly that the room, along with the coffemaker gives a selection of teas?

Thanks!
