Apologies if this question has been asked before... I didn't get to read through the entire thread...

I am so excited!! I won a trip to Disney and it includes 5 nights Concierge level at the Wilderness Lodge! I am working with a Disney travel agent, but am curious... what concierge rooms have the best views?

Thanks,
TikiG

for concierges request a room in the north tower on facing the magic kingdom and you maybe able to see some of the castle and Wishes!

Ok, I leave in a couple hours for my first stay at the WL!!!! I want to thank everyone on this thread for all the helpful information. My husband and I are so looking forward to our stay. Thanks again everyone.

Wow! I can't believe that I finally made all the way to the end of this thread! There is so much great information in here - I've been cutting and pasting as I go, and I have quite a long text file now. Thank you to everyone for your great tips and advice!

We just booked the WL a few days ago for Dec. 20-24. We had stayed in a moderate before (POR), and loved it, so we were booked into POFQ for this time. When I saw the prices available at WL for our time, though, I was happy to switch over! Plus, we were able to use a multi-night hotel room coupon for the site we booked it on (I don't think that I can name that site here?), which brought the price down even more. We are getting two rooms - one for us (me, DH, DD5, and DS2) and one for my parents, who will be seeing Disney with the grandkids for the first time. Growing up, we always drove all night, got to WDW first thing in the morning, saw the park all day, and then drove again to my grandparents in south Florida. It will be so nice to splash out a bit and treat my parents this time, particularly since it's my mom's 60th birthday.

This thread will definitely help me make the most of our trip! I already have the info I need to get to each park and to our ADRs, to take advantage of the activities at WL (and FW) for kids, and to drool over what the WL will look like at Christmas time.

I do have a few small questions that I don't think were answered anywhere in the thread, though I might have missed them:

1) I know that milk is available in the Mercantile. Does anyone know about how much it costs? I'm trying to decide if it would be better to place a grocery delivery order or just pack the dry goods and buy the milk there.

2) I saw that one post (here) said that their room didn't have a balcony. I thought that all of the rooms at WL had balconies! Are there a number that don't?

If anyone knows the answer to either of these, thanks a ton!

It was posted on another thread recently that milk was $2.80 for a 1/2 gallon.

As for as room without balconies....I didn't think there were any unless you were on the ground floor. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Hey Everyone,

We're just back from a 5 Night stay at WL - Club Level. I can't say enough amazing, good things about this resort! It is our favorite, a true gem!

We were in room 7042, a woods view with an amazing view of the castle. It was the last room in the hallway (only other room down our way was the Yosemite suite!). The area was extremely quiet, and great to come back to each night.

Our mousekeeper, Diana, was AMAZING! Friendly, and helpful - and left us towel animals every day. She even made Ghosts and Pumpkins for Halloween!

Lounge access was great, my only "Wish" would be that it was open to 11 pm instead of 10pm - just seemed like we wanted to rush a bit to get back and have dessert before bed.

Offerings for Breakfast: juices, coffees, milk, yogurt, muffins, fresh fruit, fruit salad, bagels, croissants. YUMM!

Offerings for Lunch/Snack time: These were very light, mostly lemonade, ice tea, soda, coffee, goldfish, gummy bears, cookies and nut mix

Offerings for Dinner: Varied each night, but usually a soup and "main dish": we saw minestrone soup, chicken broth with veggies, buffalo chicken and mashed potatoes, pork loin and spicy rice. uncrustables, Beer, wine, soda, etc

Offerings for Dessert: Warm apple cobbler, warm berry cobbler, cookies, brownies, magic cookie bars, Kahlua, Irish Cream, congac, Grand Marnier (sp?). Wine, beer, coffee..

We also managed to do the Wildlife Discovery Excursion, which is open only to Club level guests. It was definately worth the price (45? 50? - I don't remember anymore!). Even our kids 8 and 11 loved it.

As a treat, I had arranged for a White Chocolate Monorail to be in our room. The IPO handled this perfectly as well.

My only suggestion/complaint re:Club Level would be: make sure you print your itinerary before you go. I had asked the IPO if I needed to do this, and they had said not to worry about it. Turns out, when we got there, they couldn't print it - told us the system was down. If I didnt have some notes/a fairly good memory for our ADR's, we would have missed one or two of them.

That's it - any questions, feel free to ask!

If you've already chosen WL - you can't go wrong! Great choice! If you are considering WL, I say go for it! It is definitely our favorite (and we've been to a bunch of deluxes: poly, yacht club, akl)!

I have tried to find this out so I am sorry if I am asking something already answered. Could someone tell me which floors have closed balconies. Having an open balcony is really important to me so I would like to make a request for a floor that is open. Also do the bear faced rooms have a problem with trees blocking their views. Thanks for all the help, you guys are great.:thumbsup2

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply. That's so good to know about the milk prices - since we'll probably only go through 2 1/2 gallons while we're there, it definitely makes more since to just buy it on site.

Thanks again!

Hi There! All of the balconies on Club Level are enclosed. I think there may be some regular rooms with closed balconies as well. If you are interested in one that is open, I would just put that on your reservation as a request.

Hope this helps!

Where are the king-bedded, NON-handicapped-accessible rooms located?

Please help refresh my memory from two years ago. I don't recall any microwaves in the rooms  but I somehow remember one in the "Old Faithful Club" on the Club Level where we will be staying. We got some great microwave popcorn from my son's the Cub Scout Troop this fall and would like to enjoy it in the evening while watching TV before bed.popcorn:: Am I right or was the only microwave in the "Roaring Fork"?? Thank you kindly.:love2:

Sorry, no microwave in Old Faithful... atleast not as of two weeks ago...

I am sooooo excited!!! I just talked my husband into going to Disney in February. We got an awesome AP rate. Am I going to be really disappointed in a Standard View? Or will I be ok. Are the rooms really dark? We love the theme of WL, but coming from Michigan in the winter, I need all the sunshine I can get!!! With a standard view, can anyone suggest a room or floor that I should request?

I am thrilled that we are staying here. :cloud9:

We were in 3167 which did indeed have an enclosed balcony. It's located at the tip of the south wing and is considered a Courtyard View room. It FACES Bay Lake. FWIW, it was an awesome location. Loved watching the Electrical Water Pageant parade when it passed by. Perfect viewing spot right over the beach! :thumbsup2

I don't think the rooms are dark at all. As far as the view goes you will probably have a view of roof tops or maybe the service area. If the view is very important to you, you may be a little disappointed...if it's not that important I think you'll be fine. It really all depends on your expectations.

Just got back at 4:00 AM this monring and have already booked our Feb. trip!!!! I am hooked! This was my second stay at WL and my first on the concierge level. It was amazing!!! The lodge is sooo beautiful! The concierge level was great; except the balcony is closed in and I am 4'11" ( hard to see over and actually enjoy the view while sitting down). I was also disappointed in the hours of the lounge, wish they were longer. We rented a movie (Pirates of the Caribbean) one night and watched the fireworks from the windows by the Yosemite Suite; we just pulled up 2 chairs and had a breathtaking view! The offerings were great; loved the corn chowder! I do have a question as to where you can purchase one of the wines they offered. I asked the staff and they didn't know. It was soo yummy!

Nothing compares to the WL and the concierge level is just the finishing touch of pixie dust...ahhhhhh. Only 3 months and one week till I am back home. We are staying in one of the honeymoon suites next time; has anyone stayed there before?

So glad you got to experience conscierge. That is our next dream. We have stayed at the Lodge so many times and loved it each and every visit. We have gotten as far as bear face on the 6th floor. Onward and upward, I say...:goodvibes
