Several DISers received Wiis or Wii games for the holidays. I thought I'd start a thread here similar to the one for the iPhone. Discuss your favorite games, accessories, tips, and tricks here.

We got a Wii last summer but the kids got Wii Music and Wii Animal Crossing for Christmas and if it hadn't been for hubby enforcing the "it's the World Junior Hockey Championships and the tv's mine!" law they would have played both non-stop!

I didn't check your other thread Nikki but did you get your new console?

We got our Wii this summer but Santa - okay mom and the uncles added, Wii Fit plus, Cook or be Cooked and Resort games - Mom still needs to get an additional nunchuck.

The 20 Paws got me Wii Fit Plus add on since I already had the Wii Fit. I haven't tried it out yet but will in the next day or so.

the kids got the wii last year - but i bought my husband the beatles for christmas - and it was great - we (and the rest of the family) actually finished the whole game in one night (though it was only beginner songs) - everyone knows all the songs and it was so much fun

We love The Beatles Rock Band as well. It is so fun to see the kids walking around the house singing, "Come Together" and "Yellow Submarine."

In our house the games that are most popular are...

• anything RockBand or Guitar Hero
• anything Lego (Star Wars, Batman, RockBand)

• Mario Party 8
• Wii Resort
• MarioKart
• Super Mario

Have fun Nikki!

For those of you wiu veterans, I need help. We just bought our 4 year old daughter the wii for Christmas. We are trying to figure out games that she would love to play and that would be easy enough for her to play. Would you all give me some suggestions or advice.

Thank you

DW is having fun with the Wii Fit she got for Christmas (it was her idea... she wanted one).

We just bought a Wii tonight!! I can't wait for super mario brothers to get here had to order that online

Yes, the console issue has been solved. I got a brand new one and it works beautifully. I got tons of games for Christmas and have been going Wii crazy since yesterday morning. Sean and his fam even played for hours with us last night. So far my fav game is Wii Sports tennis. I must've lost ten pounds playing it today alone. Lol I also love the Wii Play games and Cooking Mama (how could I NOT get that game? Rofl). I don't know much about Animal Crossing other than hearing it mentioned here. Is it like the Sims?

We enjoy our wii. NC B. enjoyed his present early--Jedi Unleashed. I have been playing Animal Crossing. We are planning to buy extra controller, Jedi lightsaber adapters, and Wii Fit Plus soon.

Glad the console issue has been resolved Nikki. We like tennis as well but haven't played it in a bit.

Our local BB was out of Super Mario Brothers yesterday but the Target nearby had it. Deb wanted it so we just picked it up. Profanity was rich and thick in the household last night. :lmao: She has been improving though. :)

George, I got the Super Mario Bros. Wii too. Sean and I played it Saturday night. I found it absolutely hysterical how you have to work as a team with the person you are playing in order to do well. He was Luigi and I was Mario and we kept jumping on each other's heads! ROFL We also discovered if you move too far away from each other, one of you will die.

I got Super Marios Bros - and can't get beyond 3 thingies (manhole covers?) We have the book, but it seems to assume you know how to do the basics. How many hours will I spend trying to figure this out!?!?!? - wish my grandsons lived closer so they could help me out. :confused3

But, we are STILL playing Animal Crossing! I was successful in getting all the jingle furniture this year. :dance3:
We're still trying to make acceptable snowmen.

This was kind of last year's Kindle effect. Pete mentioned being addicted to Animal Crossing, so being the good little do-bees we are, many of us also became addicted.
You start off with a town, you name it, and you name your character. There are other "townies" already in the town. You work to get your house, then enlarge your house. You earn bells (which are the monetary units in your town). You fish, catch bugs (during their appropriate seasons). You donate things to the town museum, and sell extras for more bells. Generally, you just try to improve your town. When you get bored (we've never done this), you can burn your town town, and start all over. There's no "winner" and the game never ends. Just goes on in real time (although you can cheat and change the time if necessary). If you have friends who also play, you can visit their towns (and they can visit yours). If you have WiiSpeak, you can actually talk to them! People get a little freaked at the idea of people (strangers) visiting, but only the people you give your friend code to can visit. You can send mail to your towns people, or your other friends.

There's a thread on the community boards about it, as well as one here under the Podcasts.

We like it.

Now, how did you figure out how to get around in Mario Bros??? I just can't figure that out :confused3 I need Mario lessons...

I got my Wii last year sometime, but just before Christmas this year, DBF bought Mario Kart. LOVE IT!

I also really love my Wii Fit.

I really want to get Animal Crossing and the new Super Mario Brothers game, and am VERY anxiously awaiting the release of Epic Mickey:goodvibes

Santa brought a Wii and Wii fit to my house too. We have tsm, play, Ben 10, m&m something or other and some monkey game. So far, we love tsm, boxing, and bowling.
