The Wiggles??? What is up with that???

We just got the Disney Channel this week! (Finally included in basic cable in Akron, Ohio). So I finally got to see the Wiggles.

This show is WAY-WEIRD!!!! My boys, 6 & 4, watch it without moving. Is it a cult? I think those men are so bizarre. My dh thinks 4 of them look alike! Where did they come from? When are they going back???????

Barney was annoying, Teletubbies was odd, but the Wiggles are WEIRD!!!!!

Just wait until you- yourself get the stupid songs stuck in your head. Then you really hate them. My kiddos have to watch them in the mornings and then when they get upset during the day - we start singing the silly songs.

We love The Wiggles in our household. DD loves to sing and dance along with their songs - we have several dvds and even listen to the cds in our car.

They are from Australia and have been quite popular there for a LONG time. They were studying education together in college and put the group together afterwards. Two of them are married and have kids - I believe they really enjoy working for the benefit and enjoyment of kids rather than being perverted or anything.

I don't find them anywhere near as annoying as Barney or Teletubbies (neither of which is tolerated in our house at all) and actually think their songs are fun. I do agree, however, that the songs can and do get stuck in your brain!!

We have front-row seats to see the Wiggles next month during a trip to visit family in NC - we can't wait!!

Actually, we watch the Wiggles several times a day. They're on 4 times a day now! DD, almost 5yo, loves them. And I, actually, enjoy the music also. We have several videos and 3 cassettes so, I guess we're hooked (as in Cap'n)!!! We saw them Live in August also.

But, please, puhlease, do NOT equate The Wiggles to Barney or Teletubbies!! They ALL have their niche somewhere, to someone, right??
