I went to the concert last night & almost had a great time, but the venue & staff had other plans in mind.
We drove out to Grand Prarie, which was a drive. I'm surprised that we didn't get lost since the directions weren't all that great (yahoo & mapquest didn't know where it was). The parking was $10. The beers were $7 (& the employees were expecting a tip).
When I walked in to our section, I thought I was going to have a bad case of vertigo. My sister said that we should have brought some opera glasses. There were unoccupied seats down along the rail, so we took them. It was silly that it was one set price, yet it was assigned seating.
The opening band was Whirlwind Heat. They had a lot of energy & were fun to watch, but I didn't catch much of the vocals.
During the intermission we got to watch some Betty Boop cartoons.
When The White Stripes came on, they were rockin'.
Right after this picture, one of the employees told me that I couldn't take any more pictures. I told him that I wasn't using the flash. Then he tells me that if I take any more pictures that he'd kick me out. While he saying this, I'm watching camera flashes all over the place. I was fuming.
After 2/3 of the concert had passed, I leaned to my friend & said that we should move to the other side & if I get kicked out for taking more pictures for them to stay & I'd wait in the car.
And of course, the encore.
