Day 4 – Part ONE

This was our last day of this short trip, so we sleep in a little and got the car packed and checked out. Waaahhhh !!!! Our park today was Hollywood Studios.

DSC03810.jpg

We got there around 10 AM. We checked the FP return for TSM and we would have to wait too late into the afternoon to ride, so we didn’t bother. We did get a set of FP’s for RnR and another set for Tower of Terror. I have been saying for years that I was going to ride this and I have always chickened out. But today, I was determined ….. I think.

DSC03812.jpg

DSC03813.jpg

But first we had some CS credits to burn. So we went to Fairfax Faire to get some breakfast grub.

DSC03819.jpg

DSC03818.jpg

We have discovered that this place has some decent breakfast food. A CS credit will get you a breakfast sandwich and a drink or one pastry with fruit or yogurt and a drink. So we got two breakfast sandwiches and a cinnamon roll with some yogurt.

Cinnamon roll

The kids shared this.

Breakfast sandwich. English muffin, eggs, cheese and bacon (yogurt in the background)

DSC03815.jpg

I got the breakfast sandwich, too but mine had sausage in it. DS ate my sausage patties.

DSC03816.jpg

They were pretty good and filled you up. We would eat here again for sure.
Then DD wanted to get her face painted so we went over by Pixar Place so she could do that.

So DD and DH stopped here so she could get her face painted

DSC03830.jpg

In the meantime, DS and I went through this.

DD and her face painting.

Meow !!

DSC03834.jpg

She made little meow meow sounds all day. It was funny. And she was cute.

She and DH met up with us inside

DSC03835.jpg

I can’t wait until this opens !!

Awww, I can't believe it's y'alls last day already!

But, it looks like y'all had a good start to the day with a yummy breakfast. And DD's face painting is really cute!

I can't wait to hear if you rode ToT! We love that ride!

Yep. Last day. Just a short trip this time. Breakfast wasn't bad. We would eat there again.

Last day already??? Boo!!!

I've never thought about Fairfax Fare for breakfast, but that sounds like a great option!

DD's face painting looks so cute! :goodvibes

Yes ... last day. Just a short trip this time. We go for a week in September, so a much longer TR, more food porn, MNSSHP and WLV !!!

I never thought of it either, but we discovered it on our April trip and it was pretty good. Filled us up and kept us going until lunch.

She really likes that face painting and it was really funny how she kept going "meow" every time I looked at her. She would like her "paw", too. Silly girl.

Day 4 – Part Two

After DD was done with her face painting, we went to ride the Great Movie Ride. I love this ride. It’s is such a classic. The movie clips, the bad acting, I just love it.

Just as we were boarding the ride, there was a little boy behind us who asked his mother. “Does this ride go upside down?” I turned around and looked at her and we both burst out laughing. It was just so cute. She explained to him that if it did we would be wearing a harness. She let him know he didn’t have to worry about that stuff because he wasn’t tall enough yet anyway. It was really cute.

DSC03837.jpg

DSC03838.jpg

After that, we split up. DH and DD went to ride Star Tours while DS and I make the long walk towards Tower of Terror.

DSC03839.jpg

DSC03840.jpg

DSC03841.jpg

We’re here …… gulp !! DS encourages me to continue.

DSC03842.jpg

DS encourages me to continue. I utilize delay tactics and take photos.

DSC03843.jpg

DSC03844.jpg

DS walks me through the process. We wait in line. We do the preshow. I notice there are lots of little kids and they don’t seem scared. Why should I be scared ?? I dunno. But I was. I post this on my facebook, “Riding Tower of Terror .. pray for me.”

(side note: I am always interested in new Facebook friends to chat about Disney with. I could also use more Hidden Chronicles neighbors !! https://www.facebook.com/susan.s.crane.94)

DS said he could see me shaking. I don’t like big drops, I really don’t.
We line up. We enter the “elevator”. We get front row. Great, just great. I am conveniently located in the corner where there is an extra handle to hold on to. We put our seatbelts on. DS assures me that I will be OK. I take deep breaths. And hold on to my handle for dear life.

We move forward and move into position. We begin rising. We get to the top and the doors open. I briefly open my eyes ……and we drop. I scream. We rise again …. And drop. I scream some more. We do this …. Three … more … times. And then, it is over. I am very shaky but glad I did it.

DSC03845.jpg

DSC03846.jpg

DSC03847.jpg

I don’t know if I will do it again, but if I do, at least I will know what to expect. But whew. For me ?? That was intense.

We looked in the shops. I needed to get my wits about me.

DSC03848.jpg

DSC03849.jpg

DSC03850.jpg

Next we rode Aerosmith. Now this I can handle. I don’t know what makes it different, but this ride doesn’t scare me.

DSC03851.jpg

DSC03852.jpg

Thank you vera much !!

DSC03853.jpg

It was fun to do both and I was glad I was able to cross the TOT off of my bucket list.

We got a lemon slushie.

DSC03854.jpg

It sure could have used some vodka.

DH called and said they were in the shop on the corner and we met up with them. He said they had ridden Star Tours twice and he got DD this shirt.
Untitled-3.jpg

We all came back to the villains shop because DS wanted a sketch book

DSC03856.jpg

and I wanted DD to look at these vinylmations I saw that had food that have smells. Root Beer, grape soda, popcorn, mint ice cream … you know, like that. She got this one.

DSC03855.jpg

It smells like root beer. I wish I had gotten the grape soda one. Now when I go back, I won’t be able to find it anywhere. You know I’m right !! Souvenir regret.

Yea! So happy your rode ToT!! (Which I already knew, but somehow managed to forget. Getting old sucks!) The first time we rode it, we were in the exact same position as you. Come to think of it, we were there the second time too. I really would like to ride it from the middle or back rows. That is if I ever get back on it. I love the drop rides, especially since I can't do the upside down stuff anymore, (again..old..sucks) but this one is a lot to take. The second time we rode, I don't know how I made it from the ride to the gift shop I was shaking so much. And I knew what to expect. One of my nieces is supposed to go with us over Labor Day, and she wants to ride it. I suppose I'll have to ride it then b/c I can't send her on that with just DD if she is insistent. I'm going to try and talk her out of it. Despite riding it twice, she did not handle EE well. (I think the only reason she went on for a second time was to show up her older sister.) I think she will loose it on ToT.

The b'fast samiches looked pretty good. We usually do Starring Rolls for b'fas t food, but may have to Fairfax Fare a try.

I know what you mean about souvenir regret. I desperately wanted this awesome shirt from the Space Mountain gift shop that said "Going to my Happy Space" Saw it over Mother's Day weekend, didn't get it b/c I had other things I had planned to purchase, and decided to get it over Memorial Day weekend. Well, we go back, and they don't have a shirt out my size. I really didn't have time at the moment to flag someone down to see if they had one in the back. I figured I'd come back on Memorial Day as DD and I planned to come that morning to ride BTMRR and play Sorcerers before we headed home. I never made it back over there. Of course, when we went back at the beginning of July, it was gone. Replaced by another cool, but not as cool shirt. :sad2:

Speaking of souvenirs, where do y'all trade Vinylmation? DD got one on this past trip she's not very fond of. I told her to hold on to it and trade it. Just not sure how to go about this.

Congrats on finally riding Tower of Terror! It always feels really good to conquer your fears, doesn't it! :cool1:

I know it is too much to hope that our dates will intersect , but what are your Labor Day dates??? We leave on the 7th. Also we bought our MNSSHP tickets the other day.

I don't know what it is about TOT, but that was a pretty intense ride for me. But I am glad I did it.

You can trade vinylmations just about any gift shop. We bought a bunch of cheapo ones at the Disney Store online. We got some for as low as $1.99. We enjoy trading. Maybe we can do that together during Thanksgiving. Some shops have just three to trade and others have a box as big as 24? You pick a number and they show the figurine behind that number and you decide if you want to trade or not. Some CM's are really strict about how many tries you get, some just let you pick a bunch of numbers. The boxes are not always prominently displayed, so you have to ask. If they don't have a box at their gift shop, they will always tell you which h one close by that does have one.

Congrats on finally riding Tower of Terror! It always feels really good to conquer your fears, doesn't it! :cool1:

It does feel good. But I am not sure I NEED to ride it again any time soon !!! The gift shop was really cool !!

I'm finally all caught up, but I'm never going to remember everything to comment on, so I'll just comment on your last couple of updates! I should have taken notes, but I was reading on my phone whenever I had a chance, but I did read the whole thing! I can't believe you're up to your last day already! :(

I love DHS! I had no idea they had those breakfast sandwiches, they look really good, I'll have to remember that the next time we go there for rope drop! :rotfl:

Aww, your DD looked so cute with her face painted! :cool1:

Yay the Tower of Terror! That was your first time riding? It is my absolute FAVORITE ride in all of Disney, I could ride it over and over...I'm glad you gave it a try, even though you were nervous, it was fun right? :woohoo:

Haha, I never noticed that "thank you vera much" sign! I love RnRC, but sometimes it gives me such a horrible headache!

OMG I want to get some of those Vinylmations that smell like certain things, but you're right, they probably won't be around by the time I get back to Disney! :rotfl2:

Yay !!! Thanks for reading along!!!

I love it, too we always save it for later in the trip and I am always too tired to spend enough time there. The breakfast seems to be a relatively new thing at that location because some of the CM's were confused about what all went together to form a CS credit. It was a good, fast breakfast though and I got everyone to actually eat breakfast for once.

Awww, your DD looked so cute with her face painted! :cool1:

I have to admit .... she was pretty cute.

It was my first time riding. I guess it was fun ..... I dunno. It is fun to talk about in any case.

Haha, I never noticed that "thank you vera much" sign! I love RnRC, but sometimes it gives me such a horrible headache!

I never noticed it before either, so I took a photo when I did. I agree that RNR can bump your head around too much. I have discovered if you brace your head against the headrest the whole ride, it isn't bad at all.

OMG I want to get some of those Vinylmations that smell like certain things, but you're right, they probably won't be around by the time I get back to Disney! :rotfl2:

I know. I'm so bummed now I didn't get the grape soda one. Those were the cutest ones I have seen !!!

Congrats on riding ToT! I love that ride although RNRC is my favorite there.

Those slushies are sooo good! I already know I want to get another one in Sept. All of the souvenirs are so cute!

Love is a strong word and I'm not feeling that for TOT.

I love the slushies. It is always so hot and the slushies are a nice way to cool off for a bit.

For Labor Day we are just doing another long weekend- Aug 30- Sept. 3.- so no intersection.

Are any of y'all going to dress up for MNSSHP this time around, or will you stick with t-shirts? It is fun to dress up, but it is generally too hot to try and do one costume that works for the party and on Halloween. If we were going to go to MNSSHP this year there would be no way we could do our Halloween costumes.

Thanks for the Vinylmation trading info!

It figures .......

We will most likely wear the T-shirts again. Even those were boiling hot when we went last year. DD will wear her Rapunzel dress, probably. I can't get into the costume thing because it is just way too hot. :joker:

Day 4 – Part Three

DD wanted to trade vinylmations, too, but they didn’t have their box in this store so they sent us down to Tower of Terror gift shop to trade.

DSC03857.jpg

DSC03860.jpg

Did this.

DSC03861.jpg

Here is the vinylmation she traded for.

DSC03862.jpg

We saw this sticker for your back window. I thought it was funny.

DSC03863.jpg

After all of that, we were ready for lunch. We walked over to the ABC Commissary, but there wasn’t anything thing there that the kids wanted to eat, so we just went over to Backlot Express. We had two CS credits left.
The kids split Chicken and French fries. Big shock there.

DSC03864.jpg

DH and I split the turkey Panini.

DSC03866.jpg

This was just my half, so plenty of food for two.

We got caramel cheesecake for dessert

DSC03865.jpg

It was pretty good. DD loved it !!

DSC03867.jpg

Meow.

DSC03868.jpg

DSC03869.jpg

We had one snack credit left and DD HAD to have some popcorn, so DH went to get her that.

I took some photos.

DSC03870.jpg

DSC03871.jpg

DD stuffing her face with popcorn.

DSC03872.jpg

And we sadly made our way out of the park and back to the car. We went through the shops and managed to get DD a Merida T-shirt that I don’t have a photo of. We were excited to see the movie and have since seen it and we all really liked it. The kids want to see it again in 3-D. Seems like a good summer activity to me.

We also just recently bought them bow and arrows and DH took them out shooting today.

Thanks to everyone for joining us on our short summer Father’s Day trip. We go back in September for 7 days, so I hope you will join me then !!

We'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas which will be new to us, so we are very excited. We had RCI time share points that we had to "use or lose". I was surprised to find any DVC available, so I jumped on that one !!

Sounds like it was a nice last day! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about your September trip. We stayed at WL (not the villas though) last May & really enjoyed that location. It's a nice resort. We own our timeshare with Hilton & can trade through RCI, so I know how hard it can be to find DVC properties with them (OKW was the only thing open for our Sept dates).
