The Whimsical Spirit of the Conch Republic - a June TR - Day 4-Part 3 updated 7/17

I read on someone's TR that they evacuated EE when the train was stuck on the hill. I gotta say, that would be cool and scary at the same time.

True dat.

My DD tossed her log backwards over her head instead of forward. It was pretty funny.

LOL! I just want you to know it is all your "fault" that we went on this last trip. When you first mentioned the Brave thing earlier in this TR, I assumed you meant the Merida M&G. Well, then the description and pics went up, and I found out you were talking about something completely different. It sounded like so much fun, so I had to find out how long it would be around. I was dismayed when I found out the plan was to pack it up after July 8. So I searched for a room discount, found one, booked it and that was that. See all your fault.

I'm surprised you rode Space Mountain. I thought you were taking a pass on that one. I had to replace my grape soda cap pin on our last trip. It was sacrificed to the Space Mountain space yeti when we went over Memorial Day weekend. DD almost lost an earring this time around. Yes, the ride nearly blew the earring straight out of her ear. And it was stud. Luckily she felt it going and caught it before the space yeti got it.

Happy, happy your DD got to ride the teacups. Good time spinning fun!

I decided to try it again and brace myself better for the jerkiness. It worked out for me this time.

And it is all YOUR fault that I am completely Disney obsessed. Seriously, you have created a monster over here. Glad you got to see the Brave exhibit. Too bad they took it down

Day 3 – Part SIX

Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern

Here’s the menu.

Patriot's Platter - Roasted turkey breast, carved beef, and sliced pork, with traditional accompaniments, seasonal vegetables, mixed greens with house-made dressing, and house-made apple craisins cake with ice cream.

So we got our buzzer and waited about 10 minutes and they called us in.

We were seated in the back corner and DS took these photos of the things on the window sill.

A couple stories about this meal.

First of all there was a table next to us that had a very fussy baby. And they were just sitting there trying to distract it instead of just getting up and taking it outside. There were six people at the table, so someone could have easily done this while the others (there were 8 people at the table) stayed to settle up the check (they were just getting finished thank goodness).

I will never understand people that do this, but thankfully we only had to put up with it for about 15 minutes. But it was a long 15 minutes. It was so nice and quiet after they left. Seriously, I felt like standing and clapping as they left. I am not saying my kids didn’t get fussy when they were babies, they did. But we were always considerate and left when they did. To tell the truth, we just didn’t go out much when they were younger.

Another thing that we found interesting was this man that looked exactly like Santa Claus. I even snuck a picture of him.

I would expect to see something like this at Christmas. But in the middle of June ?? We found it interesting. Maybe he worked at the Christmas Store there in MK.

Anyway, on to the food photos.

Salad.

We very much enjoyed this meal and would go back again. Everyone got plenty to eat and even the kids ate well. No complaints.

After dinner DH went to get FP’s for BTMRR because DD wanted to ride again. While he did that, the kids and I looked in the shops.

One shop had these interesting soaps. I found them very funny.

Here’s another product I enjoyed.

We burned some more snack credits. I love this confetti popcorn.

Actually, the popcorn wasn’t a snack credit, but the other things were. DH joined us (just in time to pay for my popcorn, YAY !!)

DD and I went over to ride Aladdin’s Carpets while DH and DS went over to do the shooting gallery.

Then we went to ride BTMRR again.

That's too funny that y'all saw Santa @ LTT! :rotfl:

We didn't get squash & zucchini when we were there last May. I would've loved that !

Those soaps are funny! And the snacks look yummy!

I am still curious as to why he was there. I guess Santa has to keep his figure.

That squash and zucchini was really good. I have seen other veggies in other photos. Cauliflower ... and broccoli.

Those soaps WERE funny !! I wonder what they really smelled like.

I just love that confetti popcorn !!

LTT looks so yummy. I may just have to force DD to try it. She's getting better. She at tempura shrimp miso at the CS place in Japan this time around. I was very proud of her.

I'm also happy to see that your DD got a lollipop. ;) I assume that is hers anyway.

LOVE those soaps. I'm definitely getting some of that beaver butt soap for my sisters for Christmas.

LTT WAS yummy that kids ate well there, too. Mine are branching out, too. But SLOWLY. DS is better that DD.

Of course that was her lollipop. She loves those lollipops. But she always leaves them laying around half-eaten and I have to throw them away ... sigh.

The soaps are funny. They would make a good humorous gift.

Hi There! I have been reading through this the last few nights - loving it as I do all of your TR's, simple and to the point, but funny and great pics - love them! I couldn't post because I would have woken DH up, he doesn't like my nails clicking away at 12:30 am!:lmao:

Anyway - SANTA!!! We had family there at the same time and they were over the other morning for coffee and to show us their trip pictures - and they had SEVERAL pictures of that guy! One at AK, and one at the Swan where they were staying. He had on green and red and khaki pants and red shoes. SO funny you have a picture of him too! It really is Santa!!!

Love the report and the kids are just adorable. Your daughter's precious tooth smile just warms my heart. I have one that has his own smile as well, and it's just too cute!:lovestruc

Have a magical night!
Erin

LTT always looks so good! I have to ask though, because I'm kind of a mashed potato FIEND... did they taste instant to you? Because that's a total deal breaker for me. Looks like yall really enjoyed it!!

Hey thanks !!! We were loving that Santa. He had that red and white striped shirt on and it had lace cuffs. He was awesome.

Isn't it funny ?? We tell them to smile and they make this goofy face ?? Their school photos have been teally bad these last few years :rotfl::rotfl:

Mashed potatoes were real. DS complained that they had some chunks in them. He likes the super smooth instant kind. I know, I know .....I think they switched babies on my at the hospital ...:rotfl2:

You guys definitely had a busy MK day!!! I love your detail shots in the queue of Pirates, I feel like we always rush through it and never really get to check out everything!

Your meal at LTT looks great! We've never been there, but if DF finds out about a Thanksgiving dinner there, he'll be immediately sold!

I try to get some detail shots. They are fun. I like seeing them on other reports, so I try to get some as well.

We had lunch there in April and I thought it would be the same menu as lunch, but we were OK with the Thanksgiving feast. I bet that place is packed during Thanksgiving !!

Day 3 – Part SEVEN

After riding BTMRR for the second time, we went over to the hub to watch the Memories Magic and You show on the castle. We hadn’t seen it yet and I was excited to see it. DH and the kids didn’t know what to expect, so they were wondering what it was going to be. Of course I had seen it on the Dis, but not in person, so I was pumped to see it.

We really enjoyed it. DS said, “Now that ….. was COOL !!.”

Up next, WISHES !! We just decided to enjoy the show and not take photos. There were some girls next me, maybe late teens, early twenties and they were filming Tinkerbell as she made her descent. After Tink was done doing her thing I said, “that would be the best job ever.” One of them looked over at me with a big smile and said, “I know, right?? It would !!”

We enjoyed the fireworks and went to see if Peter Pan’s wait had gone down any. It hadn’t – still an hour. So DD and I rode It’s a Small World while DH and DS went to do the shooting gallery again.

After that, we were done – soo tired. We headed out to the busses and boarded a VERY crowded bus to OKW. It took a while to get back, but we still feel like it took less time than the car, so we were OK with it. We packed up some things and settled in to sleep.

Sounds like it was a great day!

I really want to get around to watching that show this year.

Can't wait to hear what y'all did next!

It was a good day. But we were exhausted !! I was really glad we took the time to see that show. DH enjoyed it especially since it was Father's Day. We had missed so many times. I highly recommend !!

Yea!!! You saw MM&Y!!! I love that show. And you got to see the special summer edition, not the "regular" one. Actually they are pretty similar, but still. Now when you go back in Sept. if they've gone back to the "old" show, y'all will have something new to see. Yay!!! I'm still bummed I don't have a video of DD's picture in the show. But we have the memory and the picture. :)

I agree, being Tink for Wishes would be an awesome job to have.

Yes, we loved it !!

It would be an awesome job for sure. But I would have to lose 80 pounds ......

Bath bombs, Legos, Beaver Butt soap and Santa... what an amazing trip so far! :thumbsup2

Can't wait for the next update.
