You should finish it through, though you should make an announcement maybe "The detectives have made a wrong guess about the murderer. Would you like new detectives?" That's what you do whenever detectives guess wrong. Just do that because the detectives aren't guessing. I'm guessing the group will be unanimous in picking new detectives and you just pick people that you know are on.
