oh, I don't have any expansions for sims 3. Maybe that's why.

when I'm on sims I do the testing cheats enabled shiz, then I do family funds, then I set needs to static, so that they don't need to eat/sleep/pee/wash etc. it works because you can set them working on their skills constantly and then they go to work/school, come home, homework and then skills.

it's even better when you have night life, my sim doesn't come home until like 5am LMAO then works on skills, reads the paper and goes to work at 1pm (;

Do you have an Aldi's near you? They've got loads of useful stuff.
I got my walking boots there for £17
Walking socks for £2 (I bought 3 pairs.)
Torch/Knife/Corkscrew/Spoon/Fork all in one type thing for £7.
and they had pop-up tents, matches in a cute little box and a plastic dining set as well!

-can't sleep if the door's shut
-I don't spend ANY time in my room. I wake up, lay in bed for a while, get dressed and then go downstairs. then I'll only go back in if I need stuff.

aw wow. I got my walking boots & socks from go outdoors last weekend :/ and I got the cutlery and knife and torch and stuff from this outlet shop in Braintree I went to.. but I still need matches, and a bowl/plate etc. so thanks

I barely spend time in my room. I have no need really. When my room is all done, I'll probably spend more time in there, but for now, I'm only in there to sleep.
