OH LORD. My brother just got home from baseball. HE SMELLS SO BAD. I HATE the way boys smell after they just played a sports game or worked out or soemthing. I mean, I'm about to DIE right now. I can't even be in the same room as him.

Answer: Because when they lick their fingers, saliva gets onto their hands, making handling the ball a lot easier for them and it makes the ball have more movement then a non-saliva'd ball. Normally just pitchers do this, and it is also against the rules. Before a game starts, managers of both teams must agree that the pitchers (and players, I guess) may lick their fingers. If it's not agreed on, and the pitcher does this, it is considered an illegal movement.

i quite like the fact that not everyone wears a red sox hat. i think means they're not too over exposed. but i mean, you're hardly going to see yankee jackets/hats in new england, and west coast..?
