I am not sure if this was mentioned before, but has anyone done this one recently?

We will be doing our VERY first trip to DL May 28-31, 2010 (very adventurous, I know). We are wanting to do this one and before I call to make the ressie, I just want to know what it is about. We will have our 2 children with us (ages 1 & 7). Of course the 7 year old can hang with the walking and the 1 yo will be in a stroller (dont want to turn him loose, or he will be leading the tour :rotfl2:)

Any help would be great! :thumbsup2

I know that we will get two additional FP, and that is great. Will we also be able to ride a ride or two during the tour? It seems like it may be so from what I read. Unless, I read wrong, which is possible :rotfl:

I had posted earlier this week asking about this tour and didn't get a response from anyone that has done it. I agree that it sounds like fun for a first timer (like us!). But I hate to take the time if it ultimately isn't worth it? :confused3

I just got off the phone with customer service (was getting ready to reserve the Welcome to Disneyland Tour). I was wanting a weekend day and apparently the tours are not offered on the weekends.

Funny thing is the agent was really nasty and rude. I asked for clarification. She said did you read it online? I said, yes but it doesn't contain much information. She then said if you read anything about it, its the same thing I have here so I am not sure what other information you wanted. WT.!!!!... SMH... I was shocked as I am not used to contacting Disney and getting someone that is not in a good mood. She was just really rude and it kind of freaked me out a bit. I guess she was having a bad day.

I am guessing that this will be our only trip to DL. This is not the first time I experienced something like this. It happened when I made my hotel reservations. I guess its back to the world after this :thumbsup2

But the tours are only offered during the week for anyone that is interested in the information :guilty::sad2:

Don't let interactions with the people on the phone determine whether or not you'll come back to DLR! Your experiences, while absolutely valid, are not indicative of the entire resort!

I couldn't have experienced more awesome, helpful, and friendly CMs during our trip there 2 weeks ago. DLR is a magical experience - don't let phone conversations color that!

You are so right. I guess it threw me off a bit. Don't get me wrong, the tour not being on the weekend, is disappointing, but not too much because we will still be there. I will just have to do a bit more research.

I am sure that my in-person experience will be just fine. But I think that I better stick with online reservations for DL in the future :rotfl:

Thanks again :thumbsup2

anytime ;) I hope you have a fabulous trip!!! I love WDW, but there's just something extra magical about DLR to me!

I am sorry about your experience. You will have a fantastic time with your cute kiddos. not everyone is that rude.
On another note, if you ever do have a chance to do a tour the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour" was a real winner for my mom and oldest daughter. Very informative and interesting.
