well after 3 thunderstorms rolling in a out yesterday today we wake up to fog crazy weather!

hope everyone is staying cool and safe with all the weather issues!

to do for the weekend:

dinner prep place
p/u photos
print out mapquest directions for our trip since I won't have GPS
make check list for to do before trip
check bathroom supplies for trip
finish cleaning house
laundry
work on APC swap
scrapbook a few LO
put away latest swap pieces I got - update my lists

I AM SCRAPPING TODAY! I have been saying this all week, and I am determined to do it! This is one of the few weekends I will have time until late September, so I am hoping to take advantage of it! I am solo with the kids today though, so hopefully they cooperate. Our neighbors (and good friends) are getting a nice in ground pool, so DH is over there helping put in retaining walls, fence around the pool, etc. I don't mind though because my kiddos will be using the pool a lot when it is opened! Really excited!
Storms came through last night, so PN hopefully some rain is headed your way. While I am thankful we got rain, it is crazy humid and hot outside now. So it is an indoor day for sure! Since it stormed we didn't get to go to the winery, but still had fun with my girlfriends.

Off to finish the challenge!

Well, we were up bright and early and at the fairgrounds to drop off the last of the 4-H projects...
DD got all blues and we believe honors group as well on all 4 that were turned in today and last night.. which means they are in the running for champ status..
DS11 got a red..but I figured as much w/ the heat and the fact that the stain wasn't drying enough...but it is what it is and he is proud of it so that is all that matters!

My kids came running in screaming and hollaring..as they yell "we have something falling from the sky and its wet!".... I looked out the window and it looks like we have a little quiet shower going on! (HA! HA! cause DH just left to go get brake pads for his car... )

Today:
pull 8x11 scrapbook paper for PJ to take to college (she is taking the create) Will go out and buy multi-pack as I don't have primary colors but have mutes of about every color in the nation! LOL
see if PJ heard from her roommates; she emailed them yesterday after getting their names from the school. she took a nap instead while I filed/shreded and cleaned... now she is off to work her volunteer shift and listen to the Hunter Hayes/David Nail concert at the fair
finish laundry
clean up piles on the basement couch
kids to clean rooms
once over house
review w/ DS11 that we have everything for rabbit check in tomorrow.. DS16 pulled his rabbit because he has been overheating... he is a black mini-rex and the heat is really taking a toll on him.. We have him in the A/C most of the time... (along w/ DS11's rabbit)..

Ok, better get started!!! Time for lunch!

Kids to gmas for the night- we are going to see a band made up of members of dbfs former roomates band. They are actually playing close by.

Good late morning everyone. We've had rain off and on the last few days which was desperately needed. Not raining now, but it was when I got up this morning. Hopefully it's not done. We need the water so bad! Kind of a slow day for me I slept late and enjoyed every minute of it. I assume. Since I was sleeping. Now I'm having a hard time getting going though. Fortunately not much on the list today.

Two swap groups
Page elements for my mom
Load of dishes
Bathroom
Grocery for a couple things
Figure out something for dinner. I'm solo tonight since DH is working till midnight. Probably takeout.

Not urgent, but if I get to it, great:
2 loads of laundry
pre-cook chicken

Been a insane busy week here so I really haven't been around.

Prayers for all those in need and prayers for rain and the heat to cool down a bit.

Temp says 75 but no way standing still you're sweating......

Already fixed fence used that as my exercise since I hiked the hill not going to do anymore other than house chores and food prep.

Left to do is our bed laundry and remake (ugh 1 time I hate the waterbed) but I caved and put the ac in our room.
finish boys laundry that in the washer and dryer now.

stay cool is abt the rest of it. Tom's moving equipment home today so I have the house to myself might try to scrap a bit.

Just got back from the Houston Zoo - James got to thinking we were heading to Disney last night & packed the suitcase - half of the shirts I had in a drawer then half of my shorts then he add his swim trunks then shorts & tshirts for Richard - poor DH didn't get anything. He did unpack the rain ponchos (well 3 of them) to make room for the clothes (please note - no undies for anyone) gathered all of his shoes & tossed them into the living room with the suitcase.

I found a cute backpack with drawe strings made of mess that I thought would be great for Disney so I put the 3 rain ponchos in it - this morning I asked DH if I should grab it -- of course not this is TX -- anyone else laughing?? yep we got rain on

I knew ya would understand all of that & laugh with me

Going to take my parents to the airport in about 2 minutes.

They are going to see my brother overseas.

I hope they have a great trip, please wish for safe travels for them.

Today is a river day. Levi's "date" and Shannon the one responsible for the "date" (dance date I'm talking abt) are coming over for a few hours. So since it over the lunch hours I'm just going to pack munchies and a cooler of drinks. Tom is responsible for the kyaks. At least I can keep and eye on the whole thing I'm so not ready for him to grow up. I've got to get my head out of the sand though on this. he's a freshman and it's going to happen sooner or later.

Off to get stuff together have a great day all

River day sounds fun - the showers (2 of them) didn't last too long, boys behaved for them & got to see Tiger during one of them.

now to figure out what else I"m going to do today

OK in AK - is Baloo,King Louie & Turf (sp??) in the asia or africa section?? We always see them on a side trail but I can't remember exactly where that trail is or if it is just bewteen the 2 sections - maybe I should just stick them with the other M&Gs & not worry about it

I think it's between those 2 sections Reddy!! We always see them.. and I know it's on the way to one of them...but I'm always scouting for DeVine..because we usually see her in that area too!!!

Good luck Christy.. the dating world is crazy.... PJ didn't date much thru high school.. with 4 brothers in town the guys were terrified.. you make sister cry you are not gonna have a good go of getting by with it around here!! Heck, DS21 called home to discuss with a guy about making a comment to PJ that upset her... he apologized profusely for upsetting her...and PJ said it was really no big deal she just asked big brother if she handled it appropriately or not... I foresee college dating being different!!

Let's see today:

clean up house (FIL on way at some point)
check sale adds (need a few more things for school and dorm)
check in rabbit at fair
check on projects in exhibit hall (should find out if there are any additional awards/ribbons!)
grab a snack and go in and watch the goat show (my little ellie is showing this year and this will give me a heads up for next year as I think we are showing pigs w/ our neighbor as they are moving out to the farm again just outside of town, since DS16 is not to interested in showing his rabbit any more, I may encourage him to show a pig)
search on line for college textbooks.. (want the best price/renting may be the best option and then buy on ebay or something if I find it and it's a NEED book that she will refer back too)

Oh Nan I'm not ready!!! But Chey is semi back with her "friend" sorta kinda, Shannon is Levi's best friends girlfriend so I'm not worried there. I think she'd (chey) prefer Levi but realizes that he's clueless when it comes to girls and has figured out she will have to move slower with him. So she's got that going for her.
They had a great time at the river and now they are out on the 4wheelers and tractors with Tom chaproning. I'm trying to cook dinner

I've told the boys I was the wild child so you're going to have to come up with something new cause I invented most of it

that's what I mean, you are supervising it, which is a great idea! I'm so happy Megan is no where near wanting a boy friend.
