Does anyone know do they put up the Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving. Also what is the weather like at that time. Thanks

I believe they start decorating right after Halloween. We were there the weekend after Thanksgiving and all the decorations were already up. We live in PA so we're used to cold weather. For us it was warm enough to wear T-shirt/blue jeans during the day and then we added a hooded jacket at night.

We were there the day before Thanksgiving in 2007. The decorations go up around Nov. 10 - early to mid-Nov. Weather is variable. Last year we wore shorts and tee-shirts as it was sunny and 70 degrees, and put on sweat shirts after dark. But you have to be ready for colder 40s and 50s and possible rain.

Christmas decorations start going up as Halloween decorations come down.

We stayed there over Halloween and through November 5th (in 2007 & 2006). By November 1, much of the Halloween decor was already gone, and Christmas lights and decor was already up on many areas of the parks (NOS was gorgeous)! It was kinda funny.....October 31st we went to sleep surrounded by spooky Halloween stuff, and then we woke up November 1st and it was Christmas with a few jack-o-laterns still scattered about. Talk about a real life "Nightmare before Christmas" when two holidays collide!

By Thanksgiving, the parks are in their full Christmas holiday glory.:thumbsup2

We got to Disneyland the Sunday before Thanksgiving last year and all the decoration were up by then. I wore shorts pretty much the entire time we are there, but to me shorts can be worn whenever the temperature is above 55 or so. If I recall correctly, the temperatures were low 70’s during the day and probably upper 50’s or so at night.

they always tape the christmas day parade on veterans day so its up by the first part of nov...

This past year, it seemed like the official "start" of the holiday season was November 16th (the Friday before Thanksgiving). That is when they started running the holiday parade and fireworks, I believe. As previous posters have said, though, the decorations were going up prior to that date.

Weather in the fall is always "in flux." We're there every Nov. and wear jeans and short sleeves, and jackets once the sun goes down. If there is a breeze, it can get COLD, and about half of the past 6 or 7 years it has rained at some point during Thanksgiving week and the weekend following. Best bet is to start checking the local weather report the week before you leave, and see what the predictions say.
