I'm kind of a lurker here and am posting for the first time so if I didn't put this in the right spot I'm sorry. :(

I think I have DH talked into going to Disney for my b-day next year. I'll be turning 29 in December (my DD's b-day is Dec 31st and she will be turning 5 so it would be special for her too). But, has anyone been the week before Thanksgiving? DH works retail so going during the Christmas season and even for my actual b-day are out. Are the crowds manageable at least or just a mob of people.

Also, I have 2 chilren...my DD would be almost 5 and my DS would be 2.5. Would there be a lot for him to ride. I'm not worried about DD because I know she'll be able to do plenty. I just worry about DS though.

Thanks and again sorry if posted in the wrong area.

I think the crowds the week before Thanksgiving should be manageable :thumbsup2 . I am going in November (1st time in November) this year, though I usually go during Easter :flower1: , so I know it will be much better then that :crowded: . There will be plenty of rides and shows your 2 1/2 can enjoy (especially in the MK) :yay: . I recently purchased the Passporter WDW Resort guide book and the couple who wrote it have a toddler and throughout the book they rate things :teacher: for different age groups including for their own toddler son. It may be worth it for you to pick up one of these books or maybe a friend has one you can borrow. Good Luck :shamrock: and Have Fun!!!

I went the week before thanksgiving in 2004. It was great :cool1: . Low crowds, beautiful weather. I would definitely recommend it

Hi there...we're going the week before Turkey Day this year! I have heard that it is a great time to go! Nice weather, managable crowds, and we'll get to see the Osbourne lights and go to a MVMCP! :cool1:

We were there last year the week going into thanksgiving (sat-sat) and while the crowds were low , it did get crowded on the wed b4 and stayed that way til we left to go home. I`d suggest to do the MK b4 wed and try AK or MGM during the holiday. We did have thanksgiving dinner at HW&V with the fantasmic package, they do a second show on that nite and it was just wonderful! Days were nice, nites got a little cold (u definetly needed a sweater) hard to judge weather during the winters there! I lived in Daytona, and one year it might be warm enough on Christmas to swim at the beach, other times it was so cold we had ice storms!

Great...thanks for the tip on the weather too! I was figuring it got pretty chilliy in the evenings. Is it still warm enough to swim in the pools during this time though?

We went the week before Thanksgiving last year and loved it so much we are going the same week this year! No crowds!

We've been twice during that time, and it's great! Both times we left the Monday before Thanksgiving, and the crowds were still very manageable.

Week before Thanksgiving is great! It's the week/weekend of that is very crowded. We have gone the week before Thanksgiving a bunch of times and it is by far our favorite time to go. You will be spoiled by the great weather and little crowds. We have always been able to swim.
Your DS will have plenty to do, don't worry about that! If you go over to the theme parks board and do a search you'll find lots of info on going during this time in Nov.
