The week before memorial day weekend... how busy?

We will be going to DL The weekend and part of the week before memorial day weekend. I have read that memorial day weekend is really busy. Does anyone know what its like the weekend before that? I have only been once, in march 7 years ago. It was not busy at all. It was great because the line waits for only a couple minutes long. I have been reading that when its busy, the waits can be hours. That sounds crazy to me.

If you went and all waits were a couple minutes, I bet it was a rainy day. Even on slow days the big attractions can have 15-20 minute waits.


In May, the weekends are all busy, Memorial Day weekend is very similiar to the weekend before it. Will there be hour waits, yes for the big attractions, use FastPass for those. The weekdays will be calm.

Even though it will start out busy, enjoy the long hours, and night shows. Then on the weekdays enjoy the low crowds and get a lot of rides in. It's nice to do a trip in that order.

We went the weekend before memorial day three years ago. The lines were great! I think the most we ever waited was around 30 minutes. We were also there during the week and it was pretty much empty, which was a surprise since the weather was awesome as well.

It was not rainy. It was over casted a little I think, but no actual rain while we were at the park. We were there for 3 days. When I say a few minutes I mean 10-15 probably. The loggest was 1.5 hrs for the tower of terror.

I have a similar question regarding the weekend before Memorial Day.

I will be about an hour away from DL and am planning a day trip. I only have one day to spend at DL that weekend, so I have been trying to decide between Saturday and Sunday, the 19th and 20th respectively.

I have read all over the place that traditionally, Saturday's are more crowded than Sundays. However, on that Saturday the 19th, almost every level of AP is blacked out, while on Sunday only the lowest level is.

So, DL vets, which do you think would be a better chance for lower crowds that weekend? I appreciate your help!

Sunday, that is why less APs are blocked, it's not expected to be as busy.
