The wedding that almost wasn't... a trip report 5/4/07

Poor hubby! So glad that he felt better! Really enjoying your TR, and glad that Disney was able to be so helpful.

Aw the poor wee soul. Glad he got better though and that Disney were able to reschedule you, that was a big plus :thumbsup2 . Looking forward to the rest of your trip report. :cutie:

LOVE the trip report - and the step sisters! What a great picture of you all! :thumbsup2

yeah, those sisters are great! they really play the part! I never see cool characters like that when i'm at WDW!

I'm loving this TR!

What an exciting tr...i love it!!!!!

Im glad your DH got better & was able to enjoy the parks!!!

you 2 look so cute!!

cant wait to see more
:thumbsup2

We never take pics of characters in the park (I'm usually too impatient to wait in line) but we happened to walk up right as the step-sisters were coming out. They were so in character that the stepmother told Steve (who was wearing his groom hat) to go stand next to her daughters "so they'd have a chance." The daughters gave me dirty looks. It was hilarious! I'd never experienced mean characters before!

lmao! how awesome! Sometimes the mean characters are way more fun. Once Jafar told my dad he stank.. well, he did hand jestures cause he can't actually talk... but you know what I mean! We caught it on video!

I happen to LOVE the Hades character from Hercules. He's one of my favorite villains!

Wow! I think it is great that you kept it so together. I mean, what else can you do....but I would have been a basket case. So sorry to hear your (now) hubby got sick but I am so glad it all went off okay!! Cannot wait to hear more!!! Also, your hairdo was one of the ones I downloaded and sent to Lisa. How did it go...it looked so pretty for the trial run!!! Looking forward to more details.

That's so funny that you said that! I went back to work today and everyone was asking about how the wedding went. They knew what had happened and how Drew had been sick and we had to reschedule. I talked about how calm I was on that day and how I didn't cry or over react. That kind of surprised me I guess. I would have thought with dealing with that that I would have broke down or something, but I guess with so much going on that I was kept busy, and I was so concerned with what was going on with Drew, that there wasn't much time for going too crazy! I was pretty proud of myself though... I'm glad that you liked my hair too! I had Anna from makeover majic and she was fantastic. I'll get more into that when I talk about the wedding day, but she did exactly what i wanted!

Continuing on....

Thursday May 3rd - MGM

we got to MGM at opening and headed right to Rock n Roller coaster. I love that ride, it's one of my favorites. Drew of course had never been on it, and saw the cars go zooming by as we were waiting. He was excited and this was the excitement that showed as we zoomed off...

hee hee! This picture cracks me up!!! We went over to Tower of Terror next. I had told him the basic premise of the ride, but not when it was going to drop. I tried not to give anything away and we were in the elevator. All of a sudden we dropped and I hear this giant gasp next to me  I started to laugh and then of course I start to scream because how can you not!

We went to see Lights Motors Action which is a fun show

We had bought one of those misting fans which I must say, for $17 is quite a bargain in the 90 degree sweltering heat. We were misting and fanning like mad people!

Watched Muppet Vision 3D and had lunch at Sci Fi. We got to eat in one of the cars which was fun. Drew liked that he got to watch the big movie screen while he ate. He now wants to put that in our backyard. I say no.

We left the park for the day and took the bus back to our hotel. We decided to get off at the Polynesian so I could walk through the lobby for the smell. I hope that doesn't sound too crazy, but hopefully someone here will know what I am talking about! I love to walk through the doors into the lobby. There is just this smell! Ahhhhh!!

We made our way back to the GF to go to bed early because we had big plans for the next day - our wedding!!!!!!! :cloud9:

up next - wedding day - finally!!!!!!

Here it is... Wedding day!!!

Friday May 4th...

I woke up around 5:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. I had scheduled a wake up call for 6:45 so I just kind of laid there. Once the phone rang and Stitch and Mickey told me to get up, Drew got in the shower and I got up too. I had showered the night before and washed my hair. I had asked Anna if she liked clean or dirty hair to work with and she said clean. I didn't want to worry about doing my hair the morning of the wedding, so I blew it dry the night before.

Drew started getting in his tux. I was waiting until he left the room to start getting ready. Here he is half in his tux brushing his teeth. It was too cute to not take a pic!

100_0647.jpg

He left the room around 7:45 to go down and wait in the lobby for the limo to pick him up at 9:00. He brought my video ipod with him to keep him occupied. I started my makeup and Anna called at 8:15 telling me she was in the lobby and asked what room I was in. I told her and she said she would be right there! About 5 minutes later there was a knock on the door and there she was. She was so nice and very personable. It's like you are friends right from the get go. I showed her a picture of my trial run, she moved a chair over to an outlet, plugged in her curling iron and off we went! She was so quick and I was so relaxed. It was great. About a half hour later she was done.

She was going to help me get into my dress so I took a last minute jaunt to the bathroom, put on my mascara and got into my dress. Lip gloss on, she walked with me to the limo so I wouldn't feel too silly walking by myself which was very nice! I had worried about that

Walking through the grounds of the GF and then through the lobby out to the front to meet the limo, I was met with little girls gasps and lots of stares. The firsts of many that day! There were 2 limos out in front but there was a gentleman with a sign that said our last names so I walked towards his. Anna gave me a hug, I thanked her for everything and then I got into the limo. With a lot of help. Dresses are huge and difficult to maneuver!

Driving to the Yacht club took about 7 or 8 minutes. I called my mom to say hi. I was excited but not nervous at all. I just wanted to see Drew. Here's me in the limo on the way to get married...
100_0648.jpg

Arriving at the Yacht Club I saw Randy Chapman waiting for me and as the driver opened the door, Randy started taking pictures right away. I couldn't help it, but I started giggling. It kind of felt unreal, like it wasn't really happening. He shook my hand and I immediately had that same sense that I had with Anna, like we had this rapport and I knew that we would get along really well. We got into the lobby of the Yacht Club and there were 3 people standing there. I was introduced to Karen, the wedding coordinator, the violinist (can't remember his name, sorry!), and Reverend Miller. They were all so nice. Randy wanted to take some pictures inside before the ceremony started so we went over to the window and got some shots. Karen came over with my flowers and then said it was time to go outside. She grabbed the back of my dress for me and then off we went.

I remember seeing Drew in his tuxedo as we rounded the corner. I remember gasping. I remember walking up to him and he met me halfway. I remember the look in his eyes as he looked at me and told me I was more beautiful than he had ever seen me look.

We walked up to the gazebo together and Reverend Miller performed a beautiful ceremony. What a great man. I made sure to listen to every word and remember every moment. We had our cake cutting and champagne. The cake was so good!!! They asked if we wanted a piece and we said yes. We sat at the little table they had set up and had a piece of cake. I highly recommend doing this. It was a nice little moment that we had. The violinist was playing, we were eating cake, come on now, what's better?

We started taking a lot of pictures with Randy after that. Together, seperate, by the water, by the sign with our names on it, walking, standing still, kissing, holding hands. Phew! It was so hot out, the sun was blazing, and my dress was so heavy and full on the bottom my legs were sweating. Sorry to share, but it's a memory I have and had to tell.

I had mentioned to Randy that I wanted to have pictures taken at the GF so we packed up and got into the limo and he said that he would meet us there.

we got to the GF and waited for Randy inside the lobby.

About 10 minutes later he showed up and we continuted with pictures. We spent another hour or so there and then we were done :sad1: It went so quickly. I can't wait to get the pictures that he took. He is amazing, and incredibly easy to get along with.

For the people that we dealt with on our wedding day, I give everyone the highest of compliments. Anna for my hair was so sweet and kind. Reverend Miller is caring and thoughtful, and Randy, well, I can't say enough and I haven't even seen my pictures from him yet.

up next... wedding day continued... our dinner at 1900 park fare

Yay! I finally got to see your pretty pretty dress! Great update!:thumbsup2

Wow, you look absolutely gorgeous!
It sounds like it was a wonderful day, and well worth the wait!

wow, you look great, glad that your wedding day finally happened!

I swear, every time I read one of these, I totally tear up!!! You look beautiful and I love your hair!!! Still planning on using your hair as an example:love: I am so glad it all turned out for you....I told my DF about your report and how you were so calm and not freaked out and he said, "looks like that guy Drew is getting a good wife, not many brides would turn their attention to their DF and not be like, poor me, this is supposed to be my wedding day". I totally agreed, in secret I wonder if I could!!! (but we won't tell him that:rolleyes1 ) Best of wishes for your new life together and thanks for sharing!!!

I don't know if this is what you mean, but I LOVE the smell of hotel lobbys witih fountains in them.. they kinda have a chlorine/water/fresh type smell to me that I just LOVE!. It kinda reminds me of disney in a way or just like a hotel smell. Sometimes even if I go to a mall with a fountain I can smell it there too... it must be the chlorine.

that's probably not what you mean though....

we're going to eat at Ohana during our trip to WDW so I'll make sure I get a whiff of the lobby just for you! :thumbsup2

btw, I love your dress.. you look amazing!!! :D

thanks everyone for your nice replies!!! :goodvibes

I'm gonna continue on with our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. It was so much fun. Originally we were going to stay dressed up, but we were so hot from pictures that we decided to change. I left my hair up, but we wore white shirts and khakis.

100_0703.jpg

all the characters were really nice and so excited when they would see my veil and we would tell them that we just got married

100_0701.jpg

when we got back to the room we decided to have some of our wedding cake. we knew that it wouldn't last because it was so huge and our fridge was tiny. we divided some of it up and put it in some "to go" containers from gasparilla and put those in our fridge, but then the bottom layer of the cake met its demise and got a little "ahem" destroyed... we ate some of it and then picked through the rest. It was so so so yummy, but we were full from dinner.
100_0680.jpg

After that, we just relaxed and watched tv. I didn't want to take my hair down. It was like if I did, the day would finally be over. So we took pictures together laying in bed. I held the camera over us and took pictures, mostly just goofy ones. I would call out directions, like, "ok, make rock hands!"

100_0710.jpg

"look like a punk!"

100_0707.jpg

ok, yeah, we're pretty much just dorks....

100_0713.jpg

We had such a great day. I wouldn't change anything about it. Everything turned out so wonderfully (is that even a word?) and I'm so grateful to everyone who worked so hard to make our day so special. Disney is the greatest and I can't say enough about it!

I'm going to write a little more about our honeymoon because it was so fun and I love to show pictures too, hope you guys don't mind!!!

so beautiful, you guys are just beaming!!!! glad it all went so well! congrats:goodvibes

I LOVE this trip report. Let me say you were a very beautiful bride. Your eye liner looks great (I notice these kind of things-- because I wasnt as pleased with mine). I also love your hair and dress! Isnt Randy a doll? I mean I was in love with the man before I got my photos but ready to marry him once I got them (Okay-- maybe not that far, but you know what I mean). Let us know when they go up on the website so we can take a peek. Congratulations! Your story is so sweet:hug:

cant wait to hear more about the honeymoon, love the funny face photos!
