The Weather Channel is going back to covering weather!

Good!
Just don't get rid of the cute meteorologist s or DH will be upset
:rolleyes1:P

Our cable company doesn't even have it on their HD lineup.

Our cable company dropped them entirely earlier this year. They picked up Accuweather. Which I hate! We're switch cable companies when our contract is up in the spring. Very much looking forward to the Weather Channel again.

Too little, too late as far as I'm concerned. Haven't watched it in years. Once they started that reality show nonsense, I quit watching. Instead opting for getting my weather on demand, when I need it. Was nothing worse when a storm or bad weather is coming and you turn on the weather channel to see what's going on and you have something like Fat Guys in the Woods on... :sad2:

A 24 hour weather channel was a good idea 20 years ago. I know some are mesmerized by looking at maps & graphics (and attractive presenters as NewRVLady pointed out), but don't most of us just look at our phone for 6 seconds when we need to know the weather?

You have people like my husband....who LOVE looking at the maps and graphics.

It takes me 6 seconds to check the forecast. He'll stare at it ALL DAY LONG watching radars, every single weather report he can find, and he still tells me to shush when the weather comes on TV or the radio.

I like a few of their shows, Storm Stories for example, but I did wonder why they had so many reality shows. I just wait for the red button to pop up so I can check local forecast and hope that the channel doesn't get stuck when I do. It's weird how it gets stuck occasionally.

The glory days of classy Weather Channel "eye candy" were actually decades ago:

Our TWC used to have a 24 Radar channel (just a radar screen all day). I LOVED that channel. They changed it to a News channel that offers radar every 10-20 minute on their Weather on the Ones. It is no substitute.

I don't own a smartphone, but I do check local radar on my iPad mini when I need to see it.

I've never been one to even pay attention to the weather. My 24 hour, always accurate weather report is called the window.

I knew this was going to bite Sam Champion in the butt. When I first heard he was leaving GMA, I thought maybe he was moving to CBS or CNN. No, instead, he made a downward career move from one of the top 3 networks to move to a low end CABLE TV channel. :sad2:

My favourite weather channel is Central Florida News 13's digital doppler. Dad was obsessed with that channel, the music always reminds me of getting ready for the parks in the morning.
