Hey. I have a question.
We are eating at the Wave in our next trip, how is the food? What should I expect and what should I not expect? Thanks:wizard:

While we may not be the best to ask (as we are vegetarian) we thought the food was very good. DH and I both had a vegetarian cuban sandwich that was fabulous. One of the better meals we had at WDW. My son is not a veggie and had chicken nachos and said they were very good. We loved that they offered healthier options at The Wave. For example, my son was able to choose a fruit and yogurt parfait for dessert versus the standard ice cream or chocolate cake. We enjoyed it very much and will probably go again our next trip!

We have been there twice for dinner, the food and service was top notch...I would put it on an equal par with most signature places

I'm going for the first time in Sept. Everything I read about it is wonderful. Birbaum gives it a glowing review and I can't remember reading anything negativew on the boards. The menu looks very tasty while also being on the healthier side. The desserts look wonderful...

Did you check out the menu on allearsnet.com?

The Wave is one of the best restaurants in Walt Disney World. Many have gone downhill, The Wave has not. But then again they've only been around a short time so we'll see if they maintain the quality level.

This was me and DH's surprise hit for dinner. We just loved it! The food was good, as was the service. If you're ok with ecclectic dining then you should like it too. :goodvibes

Oh and also I forgot to ask... is it a casual place? or can we wear what we wore to the parks?:wizard:

We loved The Wave! It was one of our best lunches all week and the service was fabulous. It looked very upscale but it was very casual and we fit right in in our park attire.

We went last year soon after it opened and was very impressed with the food, and service. Top notch and probably one of the better meals we have had (and that includes our visit to Yachtsman Steakhouse which was a disaster). The fact that it is a single credit makes it even better.

One point to note (and a very unknown fact)...if you have older kids, or adults only, and do not have ADR's (or are looking for something different on the fly), you can sit at the bar without a reservation. In fact if there is space for your party, you can walk right in. They serve the normal full menu, and you get to have a great conversation with the bar staff. We also did this last time at it worked out perfectly.

Our family thinks that the Wave is one of the more underrated restaurants in WDW.

Another big fan of the Wave. We are meat eaters and love good steak when we can find it. The tenderloin (aka filet) here was the best we had our entire trip the last time we went and that includes being better than the steak at Narcoossee's that trip too. We still love Narcoossee's but I didn't like it as much as I did the last time I went. We're going back to WDW for Spring Break and will eat here on that trip. It helps that we are staying at BLT! The dessert was great too.

Just an FYI though the Wave changes up its menu based on the seasons. What you see on the menu now may not be what's on the menu when you go. The steak that I had in Dec is not the one currently on the menu but it's similar. Mine had a white bean mash which I thought was to die for good. Definitely not what I expected. I could've licked my plate clean! :lmao:
