The Wave vs Kona for dinner?

Both are great. Personally, I liked the food at Kona better because it matches my tastes better. Some people find that Kona is noisy because of how the restaurant opens out into the lobby, although this didn't bother me even though we were seated at the front of the restaurant near the "noise". Service was great at both. I don't think you could go wrong with either option.

We use to love Kona, but after they took the filet off the menu we really don't eat there anymore. Since the Wave has a filet, I will be trying them for dinner this summer. We eat breakfast at the Wave often and it's always good, but breakfast is good everywhere it seems.

Last year (August 2008), Kona was not as good as it had been in prior years. Our server was off, and the food was decent though not great. It had been much better before; I'm not sure if we caught it on an "off" night, though.

We also had dinner at the Wave, and it was quite good, though we had a very annoying server who confiscated my KTTW card at the beginning of the meal and wouldn't give it back until after we were done dining, but beyond that strange interlude, the food was good.

In terms of atmosphere, Kona is much louder. The Wave, though not really special, is quieter and calmer.

We cancelled Kona for the Wave back in early March (pics and review in my March link) and we were so glad we did, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was so much quieter and more relaxing

We prefer Kona for breakfast and the Wave for dinner.

We love both ... two of our favorite meals last trip! If I could only pick one, I would probably pick The Wave. The food was just fantastic, atmosphere was nice and our waitress was wonderful. I will say that our service at Kona wasn't the best last trip but I can't say it was bad. Just not what we had expected from previous trips.

(Ditto Kona for breakfast though! Yum!)
