The Wave - Reviews?

I've eaten there multiple times and every meal was very good. They also have a pretty good beer and wine list. I have not had their breakfast yet but have only heard good things.

Had lunch there for the first time last month. We all LOVED it. It's nothing special as far as atmosphere or theme or anything--just a nice restaurant. But the food was excellent. My son got a BLT, I think it was called--bacon, LOBSTER, and tomato. It was huge pieces of lobster that he devoured completely. I had a burger that was the best I've had on property. My husband had a vegetable curry stew that he said was delicious. Desserts were fun because you could get a "flight" sort of thing, with three different small desserts. Very good service, very attentive. We've already said we're going to try dinner on our next trip.

I have eaten breakfast twice, once the buffet, once off the menu. Both were exactly what breakfast should be. The buffet isn't as big as chef Mickey, but all food was fresh and to temperature.

I have eaten lunch once off the menu and included the beer flight. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Portions were large enough to walk away full.

The menu changes by the season based on what they can get locally. This is certainly one of the more 'healthy' places to eat. I will say that the restaurant has no windows so that hurts. But you do walk under a Contemporary metal wave to the check in podium. So you know where the name comes from.

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner have all been excellent. No complaints from our family.

Just snagged a reservation for here! I'm pretty excited! Anyone know if the wave is ok for young kids?

On our first visit, my vegetarian DH was having difficulty finding healthy food options. The chef came out, talked with him and created some pumpkin whole wheat pancakes that DH said were amazing. Since then, The Wave is a must for us every trip. I personally love the breakfast buffet and the more quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend :thumbsup2

NOTE1: This is a new location for a breakfast buffet. The Wave buffet has significantly
increased its variety, and now is very much worth the visit. At just under $20 per adult,
it is extremely reasonable for a WDW buffet. For breakfast, it is probably the best-kept
dining secret. it has Mickey waffles and delicious sweet potato pancakes. They use local
fresh fruit and vegetables. For those with a smaller appetite, one can do the usual
ala carte breakfast menu.
Eatery doesn't exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.
.
NOTE2: Another EXCELLENT breakfast buffet choice is Trail's End at Fort Wilderness. Either
Wave or Trail's End are great values, especially considering the other breakfast prices
at WDW.

NOTE1: On the check-in level of Contemporary, past Front Desk, then left. The dining
entrées are a bit overpriced; service can be spotty, and food quality was only average.
Unfortunately, nothing to write home about or that demands a second visit. One problem
is food doesn't always come out as ordered, or hot. The restaurant is a quiet place to
eat as it doesn't seem to draw the loud kids or uncouth adults. To us, it is an OK place
to eat dinner, but nothing that rates a rave. The menu has American-type dishes versus
something abstract or exotic. We thought Lamb Shank and locally-sourced Pork Tenderloin
were very good, but were displeased with Oven Roasted Chicken and Beef Tenderloin. Trio
Desserts, with three samples on same plate, are pretty tasty. The good side is that the
bar is comforting and welcoming; a nice place to throw a few back. The eatery doesn't
exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.

NOTE2: Although mediocre for dinner, the breakfast buffet is one of WDW's best kept
secrets for both price and quality, the other being Trails End in Fort Wilderness.

Breakfast buffet has lox and a bananas foster bread pudding that is delicious. We were just there and had planned on one buffet to give me a break from cooking. We went 3 days in a row (and I had to cook massive amounts of bacon on our last day).

We've had dinner there twice and loved it both times. One of our best meals for sure!

We tried breakfast this past Friday morning. All 3 of us chose the buffet and we all enjoyed our meal! Everything was very fresh and delicious. It was busy since it was 8:30 am but they replenished the buffet offerings pretty quickly.
