The Wave or Garden Grill?

We are 2 adults and 1 child. We have been to the Wave and like it but wondered if said child might like Garden grill better? What is the food like? I read family style but it is good?

We thought the food was just okay (dessert was pretty good). DD6 and DD3 both loved the revolving restaurant and the character interaction.

DS has a theory on characters that the mouth doesn't move. We are going to 1900 so perhaps the Wave would be ok. He loves steak and the dark setting keeps him calm.

Thanks for letting me know your feelings on the choices.

The first time we went to Garden Grill our son freaked out because the restaurant moves in a circular motion ever so slowly around through "the land". He was scared of the rides at that time and this place felt way too much like a ride to him. THe 2nd time we went it was broken and didn't move, that was much better LOL As far as the food, I thought it was pretty good :) They have a build-your-own cupcake for dessert for the kids that was a hit.

For food, the Wave, for experience, Garden Grill. I thought the food at The Wave was very good. The food at GG was good for what it was, but not my favorite, however my kids LOVED it! The characters, food and revolving were right up their alley!

Garden Grill gets my vote. I've eaten at both and this December when I ate at The Wave the food was pretty awful. It was bland, over-cooked and I had to send back my DD's kids pizza. Yes, they messed up a kids pizza. When they sent out the "new" one that one looked horrible as well. It was totally doughy and didn't seemed cooked all the way. I looked at our Server and said, "Would you want to eat that?" and she said, "No". I then told her that if she wouldn't want to eat it, why should my 4 year old? I thought that a Manager would come over since I did see her going around the restaurant, but she never did. I think she realized we weren't enjoying our meal. The pizza was comped, but how did they mess up kids pizza? --twice! So the Wave was a total disapointment.

The Garden Grill is a family fav and my DD loves the flank steak and cupcake at the end. Oh, and we've had some of the best character interaction there. Just call Chip or Dale a squirrel and watch the sparks fly!

I will be eating at the garden grill in May for the first time. What is the wave I have never head of it.

The Wave replaced the steak place next to Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary. It is downstairs and very retro, darkish but we find it calming. They have american food and we have found it to be very good.

I did however have the very worst waiter ever at the Wave.

We have never been to Garden grill so I guess we shall give it a try, why not?

We had dinner at Garden Grill a couple of years ago. While the characters are fun, we thought the food was the worst meal we've had in WDW. Really bad. And the setting is fairly dated looking too.
