Has anyone ordered appetizers at the bar?

Yes. Actually, they showed us to a very comfortable, small table in the bar area in a sort of alcove. That's where people wait for ADRs if there's a wait. It was quite lovely.

My family just had several appetizers in the bar area this past Friday evening. We didn't sit at the bar, but in a circular area on a comfortable couch in the bar area, where most people wait for tables. We had one of the best crab cakes I've ever had. We also had a lettuce wrap / spring roll combination that we didn't like as much.

We will definitely be back for the crab cakes

Are you referring to that large circular waiting area with the blue couches, and the center island, etc.? If so, how did you eat the food -- with the plates on your laps? I've never seen tables there and can't imagine any comfortable way to dine there.

I don't know if it's the same area, but we were in a circular room with couches, and there were small cocktail tables right in front of each couch. Very comfortable.

That waiting area is very nice and relaxing - we just had drinks in there while waiting for our table a few weeks ago. It's all so "low" and quiet and soothing.
