I have my ADRs planned, but I'm looking for backups in case we don't get our choice. The Wave looks cool from the entrance way and decor. I like the fact that there are healthy optinos at breakfast. What is the dinner like? Any comments? I don't see too many comments about it either way (i.e. good or bad).

I've had dinner at The Wave several times (most recently on a trip in Feb 2014). They have an interesting menu which evidences some good variety. I've always enjoyed my meals there. I generally prefer the signature restaurants, but The Wave is one of the few non-signature table service restaurants that I will return to on a regular basis.

We ate here a couple years ago and it was good. We had an ADR right at opening and had good service.

I think The Wave is a hidden Disney gem - it certainly doesn't get the attention it deserves. We ate there for the first time last August and when I asked my family which restaurants they'd like to have ADRs at for this summer's trip, The Wave for dinner was top on the list (along with Tusker House for lunch). The food is fresh and delish! The service the night we went was perfect. I'm looking forward to going back this summer and may even end up booking it for dinner and breakfast.

It was quite and cool, and a lovely break from a busy day! I wasn't in love with my meal (photos in link), because it was a little bland, but I would go back and try something else, for sure! The dessert samplers were fun, too, and the drink options were good. I would give it a go if you are leaving Magic Kingdom, especially, because you can take the monorail over. Nice experience.

Sounds like it is a good place. Anyone know what kid of fish they serve? It simply says 'sustainable fish'. Not sure what that means.

My kids would get a kick out of grilled cheese on rainbow bread

We were just there last Saturday for dinner. The food is very good, fresh, healthy - they promote farm to table and sustainable options. The sustainable fish option changes based on the days selection. I believe it was swordfish last weekend though because my DH ordered it and I don't believe it was on the menu. A great choice for kids food options. My kids are steak eaters and each got a small filet. A nice change from standard kids meal choices.

NOTE1: On the check-in level of Contemporary, past Front Desk, then left. The dining
entrées are a bit overpriced; service can be spotty. We had "Shiloh" and was attentive.
But, food quality was only average. Unfortunately, nothing to write home about or that
demands a second visit. Biggest problem is food doesn't always come out as ordered, or
hot. The restaurant is a quiet place to eat as it doesn't seem to draw the loud kids or
uncouth adults. To us, it is an OK place to eat dinner, but nothing that rates a rave. The
menu has American-type dishes versus something abstract or exotic. We thought Lamb
Shank and locally-sourced Pork Tenderloin were very good, but were displeased with Oven
Roasted Chicken and Beef Tenderloin. Trio Desserts, with three samples on same plate,
are pretty tasty. The good side is that the bar is comforting and welcoming; a nice place
to throw a few back. The eatery doesn't exude "Disney", but atmosphere is pleasant.

NOTE2: Although mediocre for dinner, the breakfast buffet is one of WDW's best kept
secrets for both price and quality, the other being Trails End in Fort Wilderness.

I ate at the Wave on my trip last year. My family and I ate there the first night we arrived (we stayed at BLT) and didn't have an ADR but they were able to seat us right away. Our family has allergies to gluten and the chef came right out and talked to us. He made my kids "freshly" prepared gluten free nuggets (he said they were not frozen and the was going to hand bread the chicken in gluten free flour) and french fries. I had the filet and it was delicious. The food defiantly seemed fresh and not prepackaged. We made an ADR for our next trip in October. Its a perfect place to eat a late lunch/early dinner before heading to MNSSHP! :thumbsup2

We loved the wave. I think it might have been my favorite dish all week. It was fresh and quite delish. My husband got steak and I got pork. And the dessert trios are very fun and yummy Some pictures:

Sustainable Fish can be any fish- I've had tilapia and bass as the sustainables before. It usually changes daily, if not weekly.

I've never actually been to the Wave for dinner, but I've been there for lunch many times. I'm pretty picky, but I've never had a bad meal here. Organic stuff is nice after stuffing yourself with unhealthy junk from around the parks, I think. ;)

Agree. That's what caught my eye :)

We ate dinner there one night in the first week of December and our dinners were really good. I would definitely eat there again. :thumbsup2

Thank you for all the feedback. Will definitely be in our backup list if the planned ADRs don't work out. I like the fact that you can find healthy items.
