The Wave at The Contemporary

Yes--the listed menu is pretty much of a "yawn". Can't get too excited about flank steak. But again, this isn't a Signature restaurant.
I was thinking the same thing myself. Same old, same old. Actually ... I thought that LUNCH looked pretty good. Both the tuna and chicken salad sound interesting.

We're booked for dinner in August. :thumbsup2 I'm hoping they can squeeze the Sticky Mickey on to the breakfast menu. ;)

What does make your own omelette mean? Why would I want to make it myself? Do I have to go into the kitchen? :confused3 Make your own sounds different from made to order.

It may be different from place to place, but "make your own omelette" in the places I have visited means that there is an omelette station with a chef or two and in front of them are displayed bowls of mix-ins that you can choose. You tell the chef what you want (cheeses, veggies, meats, etc.), and then the omelette is cooked and slipped onto your plate. It is "interactive" in that you are dealing with the chef whereas an omelette made to order would, I imagine, just be conveyed to the chef by the waitstaff. The MYOO is usually used in buffet-type settings in my experience. Hope this helps!

It is on the DP and it 1 TS, I got this from another Thread on DISBoards!

oh! Not sure what I expected from the original description, but that menu is not what I had envisioned. Will be interesting to hear back from summer diners what they think.

I was really hoping for something more interesting! I hope this does not happen to the new restaurant in AKL as well!

:rotfl:
:rotfl:
:rotfl: This is actually quite popular here in NYC. The have a list of eggs- like whole eegs, egg white egg beaters- pick one. Then a list of cheese- cheddar, american, fintina and fillings bacon, tomato onion etc.sually you can pick 3-4 fillings and you just tell the server how you want it.

"I want egg whites with american cheese, ham and spinach"

I know what you mean though- they used to be called made to order but now the trend is "make your own" like they are letting you customize:confused3

For those who made an ADR here, did they say what the dress code was? Wanted to sneak out of the MK during MNSSHP for a nice dinner, but I'm not sure if we'll be dressed up enough. We won't be in costume.

Unlike Cali Grill, there was no mention of a dress code when I made the reservation. So I'm hoping that "park casual" is good enough. :)

This dosen't appear to be a Signature restaurant, so there probably is no dress code.

LOL, I just had to tell DisneyDine that I called up to make my ADR for The Wave and the lady told me that they weren't taking reservations for that restaruant yet. I then told her that I know people who had current ressies and exactly where to look. She apologized profusely and said that she would make a note to herself b/c someone else had called with the same request. SO I've got my ressie for August 3rd and i'm excited to try a new restaraunt while it's still "new." I figure by August they should have all the kinks fixed right? ;)
