Why is Corabeth Walton Godsey a Walton? How is she related?

Corabeth Walton Godsey is John's (John Sr.) 2nd cousin. I know she grew up on the mountain. After orabeth's mother passed away (she had been nursing her), she came back to visit the mountain and her kin. She ended up meeting Ike. He fell for her and asked John to help him connect with her. After going back and forth they married. She left when she discovered she could not have kids. Ike came after her and they eventually adopted Aimee.

Thanks for the great explanation. I always thought Corabeth and Ike were alot like Mr. & Mrs. Oleson on Little House. The "her" being uptight, the "him" pretty laid back.

It was really strange seeing this thread this evening since today at lunch we were talking about the Waltons! Actually someone said my friend and I were kinda like the Baldwin sisters and wanted to know where the recipe was! Good night............all
