I agree that Lori is irritating.

I like the series, and while I don't find it boring I do think it's a bit slow.
I read the novels and I'm wondering where else they're going to veer off. I'm glad they've kept Daryl because he's turned out to be one of the best parts of the show.

This season has been a total bore since they came to the farm. It is more like "The Young and the Restless" than anything else this year. The women are SO one dimensional. Andrea and Lori are the worst.

I can't even watch the show live anymore. Thank goodness I have fast forward whenever they get into these long dialogues about how Glen can't say "I love you" to Maggie.

The best thing for the series would be to get off the farm! Oh, and Shane needs to die already.

I love this show and wanted to rewatch them all this weekend but DH would not cooperate.

Lori, she gets on my nerves and it would not kill me if she bit the dust. I doubt that happens cause they need her in the storyline but she is just so irritating.

Did Shane shave his head to hide where Otis ripped his hair out or just because he was going all commando? He looked pretty desparate to find something to cut his hair.

I am thinking the girl got scratched by her mother. I was thinking that when she attacked her cause she had a hold of her for a long time. Interesting to see what happens there.

He shaved his hair to hide where Otis ripped a patch out, but at the same time, symbolically, it represented the change in his character.

Oh, and that reminds me. Just when it seems Rick is smoothing things over with Herschel, there is yet someone else clued into the news that shane killed Otis. They need to keep their mouth shut! That is not something they want the farm family knowing.

Me too! Now, THAT would be interesting.

But that's yet another case of faulty logic in the show... why does no one suspect this? Guess for the same reason they ride with the windows open all the time, sleep in tents instead of in the house, etc. etc...

Exactly! This irritated me last night - we even hit rewind and watched again - the girl was wearing a tank top, so nothing for the zombie to grab on to but skin! My son thinks the zombie must have grabbed with a closed fist, but I don't think so! I was really surprised they weren't checking her for scratches at all!

I ride with the windows open in the summer sometimes. It is very common in the south and the show is set in Georgia. Saves on gas. Now the tent issue, they have been sleeping in tents for a while now and since they have not been invited into the house they have no choice. Also, someone stands guard at night I believe. I have not seen it since they moved to the farm but I remember in the first season they had tin cans tied to twine in areas. I didn't realize what they were for until I saw the show again Saturday afternoon. I assume it was an alarm system of sorts. If a walker ran into it it would make noise.

I get the feeling that saving on gas would be the last thing on my mind if I were in the zombie apocalypse. They have their choice of gas stations to fill up on and didn't care about saving on gas when they were lighting up the zombie barbecue. I can understand opening the windows a crack, but all the way? Nooooo.

Do they have tin cans all around the perimeter? Because even with that as a warning, I would have been scratching at the guy's door, begging for him to let me inside. That's an awful large area to secure, and yet no one seems to mind going off on their own without guns. Maybe they've gotten nonchalant about it because they've been living it for several months, but I wouldn't be. Of course, I'd probably have been eaten a long time ago. :)

Not only do I feel that way about the tents, but Hershel's house has a bunch of huge ground floor windows.

:confused3

I've always wondered why they felt so safe on the farm. I keep thinking that maybe they'll pay the price for that relaxed feeling and that might be what finally gets them off the farm.

If they leave, I hope that they take Herschel. I'm impressed with the guy's acting.

There needs to be more Daryl! He seemed like just an afterthought last night. I was pleased to see tough-guy Rick again.

Speaking of Lori, I commented to DS that they needed to go back to the farm and snap the daughter out of whatever and get out of there. I momentarily forgot all about Lori. :)

Was it just me or was the arm falling off the back of the truck and Andrea getting it totally random. I kept waiting to see if there was some reason for it, but there wasn't any that I saw.

It was kind of the highlight of the episode. :lmao:

I get so irritated that nobody assumes the no-name blonde girl has Zombie-itis... oh gee, a fever? she is sick? ...why doesn't anyone automatically ask "Gee, did she gets scratched?"

once again I'm also confused by the people that the zombies eat vs. the people that turn into Zombies... if Zombies had found the little girl---why didn't they eat her?

I give Lori the big "What the heck do you think your doing?" award of the night.

I give Rick a two-thumbs up on killing those dudes....but here is my fear...what if they are part of a bigger posse that we haven't seen yet? :scared1:

I think pretty much every episode has had a gratuitious gross-out moment. Like when they fished the walker out of the well and he tore in half, and when they dissected the walker to see if Sophia was inside. You know, just so you don't forget, with all the drawn-out relationship conversations and love-triangle stuff, that this isn't Guiding Light.

Totally agree.

My guess is that she got bit but then got away before they could devour her. It was most likely only 1 walker that got to her so getting away after she was bit would probably not be hard. After that it's only a matter of time before she one of them

Did you see next week's previews? If not, watch them. That will answer your question.

I think one of the reasons they feel safe sleeping in the tents is because of the mucky river that surrounds the farm. In the season finale they showed 2 zombies stuck in the muck. Rick and Herschel took them out with the pole thingys and were guiding them to the barn. That was the big guys job (can't remember his name, but he died when Shane shot him), he would collect the zombies from the muck and bring them to the barn. Hence the barn full of zombies!

Besides, they have no choice but to sleep outside since Herschel won't let them in. Also, they said most of the zombies are in the big cities since there was more "food" in the cities. I think they have lookouts too, on top of the RV.

They might not be invited into the house, but it doesn't mean they have no other choice. They have vehicles and there are plenty of other farm houses in the area. It can't take but so long to make use of one nearby if they wanted to remain in the area. If anything, now that the barn is empty, I would consider cleaning it out and locking myself in there at night if not invited in the house. Anything is safer than a tent. Heck, I would sleep sitting up in the camper if I had to.

As for that lookout, twine, and tin cans, it wasn't very helpful before the zombie attack on the camp in season 1. A lookout would be fine during the day, but at night....not a chance. It is the reason Andrea lost her sister Amy, and Sophia's dad died, among others in the group.

I think that they might be sticking around because they want Herschel's help too. Especially now that Lori is pregnant.

I would think you would have to save on gas since most gas stations are run on electricity I would think it would be hard to find gas. Leaving your windows open while driving does save on gas.

Sophia being bitten and not eaten and then turning into a zombie. She was able to get away from the zombie who had bitten her. That is how zombies are made.

Hershels daughter who has fever, I watched the talking dead after the episode and someone had called in and asked if it was possible that the virus is now airborne. The guest on the show who has something to do with the storyline said it will be answered within a few episodes (even though there is only like five left). Anyway I taped episode on vcr and did a frame by frame and the zombie had more of a fist and I never saw any kind of biting or scratching. but I only saw what the producers wanted me to see.

And what some people have said about what cdc guy whispered in Rick's ear. I don't think that is what he whispered. It just doesn't go with the flow of things and how Rick is reacting to his wife.

My theory is that Lori is going to have the baby and that baby will have the antibodies to ward off being a zombie or to kill the zombies. And that will be how the show eventually ends.

In one of the first episodes, after arriving on the farm, someone made a big deal about asking whether or not they had closed the gate behind them. I think it was when they were rushing Carl into the house after being shot, not sure though.

So I assumed the farms perimeter was fenced in, and that's why they felt safe in the tents.
