Ok really? I am bawling from that? I didn't even like him but Daryl just broke my heart!

First someone ruined it for me on Facebook. I can't watch until my kids go to sleep, so I got on to check & she posted as soon as it happened.
That's twice! Laurie & Meryl.
Hopefully I learned my lesson this time.

But I was still sobbing!!!!! Thankfully she didn't post details.

Broke my heart.

That's why I stay away from all social media! I live in Italy, so I have to watch it online on Monday mornings. I refuse to look at Facebook before Walking Dead! :rotfl:

As much as I hated Merle, I feel like he went out in a good way...though I'm sad he didn't get to shoot the Governor...but then again, what would happen in the finale? I was super sad for Daryl.

I was watching the preview for the finale...looks like the prison might get blown to bits!

I really don't want Maggie or Glenn to die... :( I feel nervous for them after the proposal though.

Excited/nervous for next week's episode! Does anyone know when season 4 will be back? I'm assuming sometime in October?

I knew that when Merle started pulling me by the heartstrings, he was a goner. People need to be tough jerks in order to survive in this world, which means that The Governor will probably live on past the finale.

It wasn't so much Merle that got to me, it was Daryl's reaction to it. After being so unemotional for so long, it was so hard to see him break down like that. Also, he is hot, and emotional hot guys are yummy.

Yes, I was not really sad for Merle either, but for Daryl, that was terrible. I hope it doesn't damage him too much.
I don't think there is anyway the governer will live through the end of the next show.

My feeling is that The Governor might "disappear" at the end of the finale, be presumed dead, but come back to haunt them again later. A la Merle. You know he is going to go out in a big way.

I just looked at the previews and it looks like they're packing up to leave, and then the Woodbury people come to attack the prison and it looks like they find no one inside. Which leads you to believe that Team Prison left. But I wonder if that's misleading, and because the title of the episode is "Welcome to the Tombs", Team Prison is waiting in the tombs, preparing to take them out?

And the Tombs is where Merle took Michonne before they left.
did anyone find that a little odd, that he puts a bag over her head, and then just like that, they are walking down the street together? It was like they ran out of time, so they just cut something out that went on in between those two scenes.

This just further proves my theory. Any character that is not well liked and then changes will be dead by the end of the episode.

I figured Merle would turn & Daryl would have to take him out. It was a sad scene though. I'm glad Merle took a few Woodbury guys out as he went out fighting. That was a nice plan of attack.
I also thought since Glen proposed (I guess you call that a proposal??) that it will doom him to death. I think Milton will go too as he rescues Andrea.

Yeah, that generally holds true just about anywhere. You think they would change it up a bit. But people liked Dale and T-dog, so I guess they take out all kinds of people LOL.

My thought was why would she have gone down there with him in the first place? It seemed strange to me given the story between the two.

I feel for Merle....he was finally coming to terms with who and what he was in a positive way. He sacrificed himself for the group and his brother.

I agree though....the governer isn't going to last long.

I'm thinking Rick's crew lures the Gov's crew into the prison trying to trap them there. Just like when they discovered those prisoners locked in that room earlier in the season. They are criminals afterall, makes sense they would be locked there. Plus with the title "Welcome to the tombs" I have a feeling they go in there but don't come out.

I'm hating this is the end. But the good news is this means they are heading back into production for season 4. Looking forward to October!

I found it interesting that the host if the Talking Dead referred to the Govenor twice in the past tense. He even corrected himself the second time. I hope the Gov is a goner.

The only death that would be a deal breaker for me is Daryl. I know he is not a comic book character, so there is always that chance he will be taken out.

Merle's death was intense. His eyes, the lip quiver. He recognized his brother. Merle was still there. Kind of reminded me of how Morgan's wife recognized the house where she died. She turned the doorknob because there was a part of her that knew her family was inside. Plus she returned back to the place and later bit her son.

Milton would have loved to experiment on Merle! But now we will never know.

I was bothered by that too. I also felt like something was missing there.
And it bothered me about when Meryl tied the string/rope thing around the column. Why didn't Michonne just unwrap it? But then I saw how her fingers were inside that thing (a hole for each finger), so I guess that would limit her ability to use her fingers or something??

Also, I watched the first couple of minutes of Talking Dead last night and during the In Memorium section, they listed Ben (the guy that stepped in front of the Gov. and got shot). I believe that is the son of the guy who was with Tyreese, right? Was that Dad also one of the ones that got shot (I need to rewatch the Talking Dead today)? If the Dad wasn't killed, I'm wondering how that will now play out since he was so pro-Gov. before.

Yes, that was the son, but I didn't see where the dad was in all of that. And they all just dissappeared, we didn't get to see any of the immediate aftermath there either.

Didn't this really show how evil the Governor is? He knew fully well that Merle would turn into a zombie. That man is pure evil and I'm going to miss him when they finally take him out.

Any bets on who that will be? I'm thinking Andrea or Michonne.
