The WALDORF ASTORIA ORLANDO and HILTON BONNET CREEK Information Thread

This is terrific information - we would be staying 5 ngts, so wither would work for us, but this one shows it as clear upgrade. I have the TravelZoo site up now, but we need 2 beds and it says Deluxe Suite 2 Queens, but no mention of a balcony - which is a must for us. I cannot seem to find anymore info...before I call the resort, wondered if anyone may have read more and know if these also have a balcony?

Also, do not see mention of the free night?

Thanks so much!
It says that the free night is deducted at checkout.

When I booked via the WA site, I was able to choose "Deluxe Suite with balcony." So I'm guessing they're either not included in this special or you'll need to call them and ask. (I know, I know, that didn't help you to not have to make that call:rolleyes1) Maybe mechteach who booked a balcony will chime in. But, from the looks of their ticker, they might be busy packing right now...

I should be busy packing, but, of course, I'm checking the DIS just one last time! ;) I chose the Deluxe Suite with Balcony, with one King bed. I didn't see any option for a Deluxe Suite with Queen Beds AND a Balcony - just one or the other. Maybe that isn't included? I don't know.

(Btw WDWKOOK, thanks again for keeping this thread so up to date!)

Great Information! Disney watch out! LoL

Further, these prices can not be beat, especially for a 5 star hotel.

Thanks for posting this!

We really considered it. In fact went as far as put a deposit down at the HBC. We can get a Disney View room for $98 a night. However by the time that you pay parking per night. then pay to park at the parks. It is not the cheaper. Plus no EMH and charging back to room is big for us. I know that we will go take a look at it when we are down over Thanksgiving.

Since this is not a Disney resort thread (admittedly its one very close to or adjacent to Disney property) ... This thread will be moved to the Orlando Area Resorts Board.

Thanks,

K

For those of you with an upcoming stay, have a great stay and do posts lots of pics, please!

Thanks for all the help and information, all, especially WDWKOOK! :goodvibes

We have never stayed offsite, but this year might be the year. We are currently booked with a two bedroom two bath suite for the same price as a room at WL. With my DH, me and our two teenage girls the thought of having two rooms and two bathrooms may win out.

I have a few questions for anyone who has been at the WAO. I have tried to ask these questions to the reservationists, but have gotten incomplete answers. For weeks they told me there were no 2 bedroom suites at the WAO, and now, I see on the website, there are.

1. I read on tripadvisor that the reviewer's room did not have a refrigerator. Do the suites (Deluxe King and Waldorf Astoria Suite) have refrigerators? The reservationist told me there was something "like a refrigerator" in the room for chilling beverages. Anyone know if it is an actual refrigerator?

2. Are there microwaves in the room? The reservationist told me there was a sink near the dining area, but wasn't sure if there was a microwave too.

3. I was told there is no self-laundry at the WAO. Is there self-laundry at the Hilton next door? If not, I'm assuming the laundry service at the WAO comes with a hefty fee?

Any help would be appreciated.

I dont know all your answers and would like to know about the refrigerator. We are booked in a 2 bedroom suite. It is actually according to the reservationist a king suite with an attached room with 2 queen beds. The rooms are guaranteed attached. Our reservation says a 2 bedroom waldorf suite.

Yes, the suites do have refrigerators and microwaves. On my reservation confirmation it says "Subzero beverage chiller". However, on the last page of the downloadable WA brochure, it says that all suites have an "Executive kitchen with refrigerator and microwave." But, in the picture of the "kitchen area" that jacqu3lin3 posted, I don't see the microwave:confused3.

Someone posted that there isn't a self-service laundry in the WA, but that the housekeeper picks-up your laundry, and yes, I bet you're right that it's a very hefty fee. I don't know for a fact that the HBC has one. If I had to guess, I would assume that they do.

There definitely are 2-bedroom suites at the WA:

The Luxury Suite (83) is 1460 sq. ft. with 2-bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The Waldorf Astoria Suite (23) is 1780 sq. ft. with 2-bedrooms and 2 baths.

The Presidential Suite (2) is 3,300 sq. ft. and also has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths.

We stayed in a Deluxe 1 br suite. The sub-zero fridge was located in the wet-bar/kitchen area. We didn't have a microwave (or a coffee maker), but that may be attributed to the fact that we stayed the first weekend that it was open.....they were still working out the kinks.... :)

Was there any type of shop where you can buy milk or soft drinks?

Nope, not at the WA....But, you may want to check with the HBC. I didn't get a chance to spend too much time over there exploring. I know that the DTD Hilton has a small shop that sells beverages/snacks so maybe the HBC might have one as well. :confused3

A few more questions have come up so I gave the WA/HBC a call today at (407) 597-5500. (Do you think it's a call center in Apalachicola?)

There isn't a self-service laundry at the WA or the HBC:guilty:. The laundry service is same-day and very pricey, with a per item charge, like most hotels.

WA guests may self-park. There is self-parking in-between the resorts in the parking garage for $13/day - Valet is $20/day.

The coffee makers and microwaves should be in all the suites "soon", but an exact date wasn't available.

The view options for the Deluxe 1-bedroom is "Disney View" (which is the same as Golf Course), it is a view of Epcot and Illuminations, and "Landscape View" which is a view of greater Orlando and the parking lot.

They are still working on uploading a spa brochure to their website and hope to have it up next week - maybe:surfweb:. You can call the spa and they will tell you what is available and the prices.

ms mouse, I didn't ask about a general store because I read your post after I hung-up.

jacqu3lin3, did you ever use the WiFi in your room? If so, were you charged?
