Yes I agree Cheri, Slidell is way too close to New Orleans for comfort. I am so glad she is getting out also. Where you are you may not get it nearly as bad. I don't know what you got from Katrina where you live. We got nothing from Katrina where I lived but thegirls I used to work with in Alexandria said they heard they are supposed to get hit hard there too so that would mean it's coming right through you. Please try to get out once Mike gets done working Saturday. I want you girls both to be safe, as well as all of your families.

QM said you all were real cooland would not mind putting up with another "elder" so here goes. I have been to WDW over 13 times with my sweet guy and children (long grown) and now we are retired, live in FL, and got a great deal on rates for rooms at a moderate hotel.The room cost per night was only $104.00 which I thought was pretty good.And from what I hear the main pool should be up and running and ready for guest by the time I am ready for a dip. On Sept.22,23,24,and checking out on 25 we, my husband, Radar, and I will be celebrating my bithday. thats right, I'm going to have a good time!!!! Lots of fun and fireworks and pixie dust for me,YEA!!!!!!
I hope I have not bored you gals too much, got to go and watch a movie than off to bed. talk to you later.

So glad to see you here!!! We are hoping to be ahead of Gustav all the way there and back, but who knows. The main thing is we think we'll encounter a lot of traffic with people evacuating on the way there. We may have to take an alternate route and add some extra miles to go in another way and come down south to our house.

It's getting here quick, 25 days! Wow!!!! That won't be any time at all. I hope you are going to post your itinerery for us here to see. We all post what we are going to do each day but that doesn't mean we are necessarily going to follow it. Everyone here loves to see what everyone else is planning.

I would still like to get a seasonal pass but our trip is already paid for and we are getting tickets for each day we are here and I don't think I can turn them in now for seasonal passes now or I surely would. I'm sure what I paid would pay for at least one and part of a second one. You are so right, WDW here we come and we're going to do it all and enjoy it all!!!!

There's a nasty storm heading your way, you are under heavy storm watch, they just said on TV. We already had it, it was nasty so maybe Radar will get his wish yet, lol.

Yep we'll drive safely and come back to the Sunshine State so we can all go camping together at Crystal River!!! Take care have a great holiday and see you when we get back!

for Katrina, the power at our old house was out for 2 weeks! And had a tree fall on the back of the roof but luckily it only grazed the corner (and it was a rental house)

We don't have any trees on our property now, but our neighbors have some, and Mike thinks the trailer across the street or next door could come barrelling into our house! He scared the crap out of me when he said that!

I will still be on that temp job then so I work until 5 PM and probably wouldn't be able to get to DTD until at least 5:30 then have to find a place to park and find you. But I think I may work closer to Universal so that may be better to find you at City Walk. I am directly across the street from sea world so do you know if I am closer or not? I know I should know that but I don't, lol. I have passed Universal when we've been out on rides but I don't remember now where I was. I think its closer than Disney but not sure where in relation to Sea World it is.

You must pay attention Girl. Gustav is coming up through the caribbean and past Puerto Rico and Hannah is coming through the Bahamas and on the east side, coming through the Atlantic. That one could hit Florida or stay off coast until it hits the Carolinas. I just wish it woudl sta in the Atlantic and not hit any land in the US.
