Does this really constitute a premium view at the Villas? Last time we had an interior facing room –– overlooking the waterslides –– and that was perfect and actually 'premium'.

Great idea but I have to sit this one out. I’m trying for a July 4th trip for all of us so that could workout to still see some of the 70th even if it’s not on the actual day like I wanted.

I have been there the last few years on the July 4th. And honestly, it was way better than expected each time. It is definitely quiet in the AM. We have started in DCA the last couple years and it really was not bad at all. And then we tend to leave after flag retreat. Flag Retreat on 7/4 is special as they typically have the Marine Band from Camp Pendleton there to provide extra music. I know it will get bad by fireworks time, but we are long gone by then. Really has been no different than any other summer weekend day.

No. If we don’t go July 4th our next trip isn’t until October for OBB

Spoke with 3 different guides at DLR over the last few days. None of them had seen the refurbished rooms and none had heard any of the concerns that many of us have shared here. Each guide was surprised to hear that the bathrooms, kitchen/ettes, lighting, furniture, etc had not been touched. I also shared that the only Disney touch in the room was a photo of a Disney character on the inside of the Murphy bed. If we ran out of money and this was the best they could do, then they should communicate that to the owners. One of the guides sent an email to DVC management as we spoke to share my feedback.

That's odd. Who said the kitchens had not been touched? Our 1BR kitchen had all new appliances/stove/oven/dishwasher and USB ports...

I had a very lengthy discussion with my guide and a few other DVC people at WDW during my visit to let them know that the news in the west wasn’t going well and VGC’s refurbishment was very poorly executed. I know my guide has been at the mouse for a few decades and has held some higher level executive roles before taking a more relaxing role as he is looking for less stress towards his retirement. He didn’t seem alarmed when I said I would be sharing my .02 to Bill after my July visit after I see things first hand. Let’s see how good or bad the 3BR remodel is…….

With that said, I guess I’ll still love VGC. In many ways the larger villas are unique and in some way better than what you can get on the hotel side. Good luck cooking thanksgiving with your family even in the nice suites there. Even with it’s flaws it’s still magical.
