Anyone been there in the past couple of days that can give an update on the scrim and scaffolding situation?

On 4/15/25, we could see the scaffolding and scrim were still fully up on the villa wing (from the BBQ area).
The DVC office was still not open at around 9:30 so we talked to concierge (? The single desk by the lobby exit towards the villa wing), and was told that the exterior inspection/repair/paint touch up on the villa building should be done this month. Crossing my fingers that they will be down by my stay in mid May.

Well I’m going to keep my fingers crossed that they pull the scaffolding down next week then because I’m checking in on the 27th and staying until the 2nd… wonder if they will do the poolside next.

We did ask about the pools. CM wasn’t sure. Looking from the outside, the fountain pool (guests swimming in it) and mariposa pool (no one using it but CMs putting towels on loungers) appeared to be open. The side paneling flanking the fountain pool were still up.

Checking out today after a quick stay. Pool area is fully functional. Scrim and scaffolding still up on the park side and we were unable to access the balcony from our room. We could access the World of Color viewing deck, but it is also fully enclosed with scrim right now. A letter in our room noted that from today until the 24th, the Mariposa elevators will be unavailable.

Updates to the room are nice enough; we are in a studio and I don’t remember the side of the bed closest to the wall being this close. I wish they would have added a tiny floating nightstand on that side a la Copper Creek 2 bedrooms. It doesn’t feel like the microwave, toaster or coffee maker in this room were replaced, and as noted the bathroom area is pretty much completely untouched. I have mixed feelings. If this is it, I am glad we didn't lose some of the higher end trims, but disappointed the only upgrade into 2025 is the murphy.

Nope, the bed in the studio has always been that way.

We have stayed once before for a few nights, loved it and can’t wait to return
Our hope is to get a 2 bedroom for a week. We are currently owners at BRV and OKW.

Other than David’s rentals does anyone know of another company that rents points, maybe a west coast company?

Just don’t want to take a chance booking at 7 months

Keep an eye on the the rental board here. I've seen VGC points plenty of times. Have you looked at the point chart? It might be hard to find someone who has enough points TBH.

I’ll be staying there for a week starting this weekend.. I’ll try to go in there and see if I can get any information out of them unless somebody else already has.

Yeah, I saw that… I wonder why. Seems like having it close to the entrance makes sense… maybe they want to reduce lines in that area.

My guess is that a lot of people do online check in now and so that moves the bell svc congestion away from the main entrance and walkway.

I felt the place it was kind of in the way. I think moving it makes sense

Someone elsewhere posted photos earlier today. Most of the scaffolding around the DVC wing is gone… it’s probably all gone by now. I hope they also unblock the patios by the time I check in Sunday… but either way at least the scaffolding is gone.
