Thanks I completely forgot about them!Villas at the Disneyland hotel studios have a walk in shower.
I can’t wait to check them out in June before moving to VGC

Copper Creek is also getting the Murphy beds for their soft goods refurb! As an owner, I was really looking forward to the bathrooms being redone and brought up to the standards of other studios. I was hoping for a walk in shower and better shower head. If anyone has the email where I can send my concerns I'd appreciate it.
I think a lot of family’s with kids like the bathtubs…. It’s a big complaint about VDH….Copper Creek is also getting the Murphy beds for their soft goods refurb! I'm pretty sure that same reason is why they ended up created the separate booking categories at CCV.I think a lot of family’s with kids like the bathtubs…. It’s a big complaint about VDH….
The most amazing entrance ever. We were ground floor so we just exited our room out the back door, door to standing in the park in like 90 seconds (yes we left our back door unlockedHas anyone tried the tried the temporary California Adventure entrance? I know it’s just the Pixar place entrance, but I’ve never used that. I know where it is, though. Do you actually have to go to the lobby and go out the front and then over to the gate?
Isn’t there actually a door in the DVC wing that goes right out to that pathway, or is it just an emergency exit. It seems like there’s a little patio or something out there along the pathway. I know I’ve stayed in one of the rooms on the ground floor right in front of the pathway before.
It almost seems like that entrance might be more convenient for DVC members if you can just go right out of the side of the building.
We were taking a break from DLR for a few months so we haven't ever stayed on property when this wasn't an all day entrance and it's the entrance we use all of the time when we are going into DCA or heck even when Disneyland is our goal we'll start here and work our way through towards the other park as the security was also super chill here. It's also how I always got into the parks when staying at VDH and going to DCA. You just exit near the gas grills and head that way. Super easy to get to.Has anyone tried the tried the temporary California Adventure entrance? I know it’s just the Pixar place entrance, but I’ve never used that. I know where it is, though. Not sure how it will go but I know we'll be meeting with our guide while in WDW in a few weeks and we'll also be going to our first Moonlight Magic thing at EPCOT. I'm not sure if they do any member events and/or if there are any of the big execs walking around and talking to members but if I have a chance to chat with Bill Diercksen or someone with any kind of pull I'll bring it upI’m kind of curious if anybody staying there just recently has went down to the DVC office to ask about why the bathrooms haven’t been updated, and why this hard goods refresh is so low budget.
I’ll be at Disneyland in less than two weeks during a work trip. I’m not staying at the grand Californian, but I am going over there for a dining reservation. I might try to pop in there and see if I can get any info.
And what exactly do you expect the guides and admins to say?I’m kind of curious if anybody staying there just recently has went down to the DVC office to ask about why the bathrooms haven’t been updated, and why this hard goods refresh is so low budget.

We stayed on the 3rd floor from 2/12-2/15 and the whole floor still had guests—it’s been closed less than a month, correct? Isn’t that on par with the other floors?Just throwing this out there, but afaict the 3rd floor has been closed a lot longer than the other floors that received updates…
Seems to be slower. We stayed on the 3rd floor from 2/12-2/15 and the whole floor still had guests—it’s been closed less than a month, correct? Isn’t that on par with the other floors?

Wonder why they took so long? They must have been doing one room at a time. The amount of work they did on those rooms should have only taken 2-3 days max… they didn’t really do much.Seems to be slower.
Floors 5+6 were just about 3 weeks combined from what I can piece together (6th floor is very few rooms, though). 4th floor is a little murkier, but seemed faster in the moment.
You can’t be serious? That’s not how construction goes. Think of how much downtime that would cost.Wonder why they took so long? They must have been doing one room at a time. The amount of work they did on those rooms should have only taken 2-3 days max… they didn’t really do much.
I meant hoping for walk in shower at Grand Cal vs the current shower tub combo. A lot of the newer resorts as you mentioned have the walk in shower in the studios which we prefer. They have a whole booking category for the walk in shower if you are talking studios and the other units all have walk in showers.
I could be wrong but CCV, PVB, RIV and VGF are the only ones that offer walk in showers in studios I believe.
Edit: Thanks to @KPeterso for pointing out that I forgot VDH also has the walk in shower in the studios
VDH has both but I do wish it was a separate booking category like it is at CCV. We received a shower/tub once at VDH but I'm not sure if there is a way to tell when Booking. (if there is, id love to know). When we checked in I asked to make sure I got a walk in shower and the front desk said all rooms have walk in showers. Imagine my surprise when I walked in to a shower/ tub combo lolI think a lot of family’s with kids like the bathtubs…. It’s a big complaint about VDH….
