The idea at the end that there was going to be some army of slayers rising to fight new evil was a little weird for me to buy because I thought the premise the show was based on was one slayer to carry the burden of saving the world.
They did a lot of emphisising this season on how the slayer was actually a slave in the very beginining. She was meant to be alone because her only purpose was to fight. Buffy was the first slayer to actually have friends to fight with her and we learned that the slayer works best with others. I think the proof of that is that all the slayers die before they reached the age of 20. All those slayers were alone. So through the seasons we've learned that Buffy fights best with her friends.
For those who missed the conversation between Buffy and Angel, here's a recap: Angel shows Buffy the amulet and tells her that a souled champion that was stronger than human was meant to wear it. She says fine, she'll wear it. Angle says no she can't, he doesn't know what will happen to the person who puts it on. He tells her he will wear it. She says no, she needs him in LA. If they were to fail then the evil would spread fast and she needed him to hold up the fort if she failed. She told him Spike would wear it (which suggests to me that she cares more about Angel since he JUST got through telling her that it could be dangerous and she would rather sacrifice Spike than Angel) because he has a soul now. Angel then begins pouting because he was the first one to have a soul and pretty soon everybody would get a soul and it wouldn't be cool anymore (It was really funny) and Buffy reminds him that he's not 12. Angel asks Buffy if she loves Spike. She said she doesn't love him but he is in her heart. They then have a meaningful conversation about when Buffy would be ready to decide who she wanted to be with. She then proceeds to compare herself to cookie dough. For maleficent1959, here's how that conversation went (word for word thanks to my impressive captioning skills

)
"BUFFY: I'm cookie dough. I'm not done baking. I'm not finished becoming whoever the hell it is I'm going to turn out to be. If I make it through this, then the next thing, then the next thing, then maybe one day I'll turn around and realize I'm ready. I'm cookies. And then, you know, if I want someone to eat -- or enjoy warm delicious cookie me, then that's fine. That'll be then. When I'm done.
ANGEL: Any thoughts on who might enjoy -- do I have to go with the cookie analagy?
BUFFY: Not really thinking that far ahead, that's kind of the point.
ANGEL: I'm going to go start working on the second front. Make sure I don't have to use it.
(Angel starts walking off ready to head back to LA)
BUFFY: Angel! (She calls out to him and he turns back around) I do -- sometimes -- think that far ahead.
ANGEL: Sometimes is something.
BUFFY: It'll be a long time coming, years if ever.
ANGEL: I ain't getting any older."
For those who missed this scene, it was my favorite last night. I've always been a big Buffy/Angel fan and this scene really gave hope to us Angel and Buffy fans that one day she would choose him
