The Unofficial STROLLER Thread

here is a response from another board that I'm on....

Vibe - very nice, has a high-end stroller look and feel (kind of looks like a bugaboo or Quinny). I liked the brake on the handle, and the doubles seat attaches via a different mechanism. And the seat adjusts differently, which is nice, but you're still limited how much you can recline the front when you have the doubles kit behind it, so I'm not sure how much real value that adds. I think it's very cool that it attaches with the doubles seat on it. The seats are very nice - they come with removable memory foam feeling stuff liners. It's only available in black/red and black/gray. The stroller's cool, but I'm not sure it's worth over $700. For $700 I want a stroller that's perfect, and this one isn't.

Sport - I have this one and like it. For the price, I think it's probably the best value. I like the adjustable handlebar. I don't like the brake, because it's hard to get it back up when I just have flipflops on (I reach down and do it with my hand). Available in lots of fun colors.

Classic - The Classic is WAY stripped down. The seat is only three-way adjustable, the doubles kit doesn't look as comfy, the handlebar only has two settings, and it's only available in red. I think it's worth it to spend the extra $100 and get the Sport.

Thanks for the great review of all three styles! Still LOVE the P&T's but the City Mini Jogger is looking good too, online. May have to check those out at the store. If only I could find information about the jump seat...

from what i read it doesnt attach to the city mini series... too bad i thought that would be perfect

I'm looking for a double stroller for my upcoming twins. I think I want a side by side, as long as it fits through doorways.

I've been looking at the Baby Jogger City Series. Anybody have this one and like or dislike it? I was also looking at the Peg Perego side by side, but some reviews say this is very hard to steer and overpriced for the quality.

Any suggestions?

Just wanted to say what a great thread this is,our dd is 5 and would not use a stroller at home but I needed one for the parks,I was going to hire one from wdw but with the new prices decided against it!I have booked a single baby jogger from orlando strollers it will be delivered to our hotel and taken away from bell services on our departure, the cost is $130.This is the best option for us as it saves us going through airports with a stroller!

I would look at the Maclaren twins before the Peg Perego - is it the Aria that you are looking at?

Also, I've read that width needs to be 29 inches or less to fit through doorways easily (and clear the door). The other thing to consider is recline. I would imagine that you would be putting twins into the stroller from birth, so I would make sure that the stroller is suitable "from birth". (I am not sure that the Aria is, but it has been a while since I looked at strollers - it might have changed.)

I think the Maclaren Volo is a great option for older children without being to expensive. You can find great deals on ebay for last years models. It holds up to 55 lbs.

thanks for the advice. Are there any strollers for bigger kids that have a seat that reclines?

I just bought the Maclaren Twin Triumph. Although I only used it once so far, it was at the zoo, so lots of walking. I loved it! We were able to use the baskets underneath, it held my 65 pound and 33 pound sons and closes pretty compactly.

I plan on taking it with us to WDW in two weeks.

Oh, and I need to get a parent holder! That is the only downfall so far.

I just purchased the Maclaren Quest for my 9 month and 3yr old and it is AWESOME!!!! It reclines, it's sooo easy to push, it hold up to 55 lbs, folds like an umbrella stroller and is light weight, has a basket underneath and a pouch near the top for keys, wallets, etc..., and did I mention I LOVE IT!!!! I'm not sure how old your children are, but my dd3 has pleanty of room in this stroller. My 4yr old neighbor girl also sat in this stroller and had pleanty of room. OH, and this is the first stroller that I can truely push one handed. I put my dd 3 in the stroller and was able to push it around the block while holding my ds 9 months. SOOOO EASY!! Anyway, hope that helps.

Thanks. She will be 4 1/2 for our Halloween trip to WDW. princess:
We are wanting some type of stroller because I know she will get tired. I am going to try and find a store that sells MacLaren this weekend.

you'll most likely get the best deals at www.albeebaby.com

they have last year's models for much cheaper!

I just ordered and received mine from www.bestbuybaby.com. Great price, free shipping, and it came pretty quickly. Around here Target has a Maclaren Volo, and Babies R Us has last years models. The difference between last years Quest Model and this years model is that it now has a carry sholder strap (last years just has a little carry handle) and a connected one push foot break (instead of having to do each break seperatly.) Other than that they are basically the same expept for fabric patterns. I got this years model just because those two new improvements were important to me, and only about $10 more to have. Babies R Us had last years Quest for $199, and www.bestbuybaby.com had the new Quest for $213 with free shipping. The Mac Volo at Target is about $80, and the Mac Triumph's at Babies R Us were about $150. Can you tell I recently searched prices? :rotfl2: Anyway, hope that helps.

Another option similar to the Mac quest is the Zooper Twist. I just got this stroller and really like it so far. I had not seen it in person before I ordered online, but it looked like what I was looking for. The Quest but with a bigger Canopy and a better price. I paid $189 w/free shipping from babydepot.com. that is the going rate just about everywhere for the 2008 model which holds up to 55 lbs.

I am renting the city mini from www.orlandostrollerrentals.com. The City Mini blows away the Mac or Peg. It is a new design for this year and easily handles 100 lbs in the double. The double retails out at $400 and I am renting it for $85 for the entire week. I don't own a stroller any longer so this is perfect for me. Click on this link to check out how easy this stroller folds. http://babyjogger.com/cityminimain.htm - Click on watch the double in action. The single is great too. Nothing is easier for getting on the buses in a timley fashion.

Finally somebody has made a stroller that is easy to push and fold!!:cool1:

Okay ladies and gents I am looking to down size from my techno classic to a volo b/c dh decided we need a jogger for our trips and w/ the recent help of some dissers I have found that the BOB and the Dreamer Design are two brands that we will be looking into getting if anyone is interested or has questions about my 2006 Techno Classic in Lilac please feel free to send me a PM.

Just thought I'd chime in as we just got back yesterday. 2 years ago we went with a schwinn double jogger great for the kids, a TOTAL pain to fold and transport. Kids are sizing out of the jogger so we bought a double Maclaren Twin Techno (55lbs limit for each kid, from one of the e-bay sites? for $250 ish). This thing was dreamy!!! I have two girls at 37 and 50 lbs. My 6 year old is tall and did just fine, not "roomy" but plenty of space for fast pass runs, quick escapes from the crowds, and a short nap or two. My 4 year old could curl up and took a few extended naps in the stroller. Folding was amazingly easy - and it fit under the bus seats when it was crowded. I only wish I had done this earlier!!! My DH and I kept shaking our heads about how dreamy this stroller is and how long we waited to get it!!! Another note from this board we used was to put the stroller in a golf bag. What a great Idea and it worked so well!! It cracked me up how the valets and bell service people kept making comments about the oh-so-important golf clubs------- DH had the sheepish grin knowing it was a stroller inside!!!

just bought the maclaren twin triumph, so far it is great, it folds small for a twin and it isn't too heavy and it hold 2 55lbs children.

if you buy online do not buy from babydealz. they show the cheapest price online, however Maclaren has put out a buying warning from them. after I bought it, I saw that bed bath and beyond sells them online. you should be able to use the 20% off coupon from them.

we love our mac twin also, we're bringing it when we go in august. i love how wasy it is to fold and use!

On the Mac Twin how does it do if only one kid is sitting in it? We are going in December and have a 2 year old and 5 year old. I think a lot of the time it will just be the two year old riding but last time our older dd learned riding was easier than walking so I want something that holds both for times when it is just one of us with the kids. We took our Graco Duoglider last time but it was a slow time and I don't want to deal with it on a crowded bus in December.

Our twin was great with just one kid. My oldest usually did not ride until later in the evening and It was just fine.
