Have any of you bought this 2nd edition e-book at yourfairytale.com? I was curious if it was worth the $19.99. It could be if you plan to use outside vendors who have coupons in the book. I would love to hear reviews from DIS'ers :sunny:

I had the 1st edition (that's what was out when I was planning). I found it to be very helpful, and since I used Randy Chapman for photography I got to use the coupon in her book to get a small price reduction. I don't know if that coupon is still offered in the 2nd edition, but it did help me. The book is a great resource for detailed info and lots of options.

I was looking at that too but im using disney photography so i wasnt sure if it would be that helpful for me?

I have the original e-book that Andrea wrote and I read it cover to cover many times! I did choose some of the outside vendors suggested in her book but not any of the coupons. Andrea (the author) is the founder of the Disneymooners and that is where I learned everything Disney doesn't tell you about having a Disney wedding. I really felt the book was able to bring it all together for me and provided ideas for things I wouldn't have ever thought of (like putting those inexpensive sandalwood fans on the chairs for our guests at Seabreeze Point - it was hot that day and our guests really appreciated the fans!). Good luck and happy planning!

Thanks Disneybridein2K3!! I really appreciate the review. I have a long planning stage so I thought I might enjoy having more reading material :goodvibes The fans are a great idea for an outdoor wedding :sunny:

Is it only good for custom weddings or intimates too?

RJ

I bought it! It's good for custom and intimate. I found it helpful with lots of details I haven't found anywhere else.

I have the book, and it had some really interesting ideas. I loved the wedding recaps toward the end. I would maybe try to contact the author to see if she is coming out with a new addition anytime soon, because some info I thought was already a little outdated.

Is this the only place this book is available? Are there any other books that are available at Barnes & Noble or anything?
Thanks! I too have a looooong planning stage and would like some reading material :)

My understanding is that only an e-version of the book is available but I bought it downloaded it and printed it off and OMG Paul and I didn't do a thing until we had both read that - then we were off and running.

I used vouchers I think for STVS, Randy Chapman and Charming Events Floral.

It certainly showed me just how many options there were. Obviously this was before Disney Fairytale Weddings new formatted website which I also find very informative but not to the detail or with the examples that Andrea's book and website both gave us.

I got it and am having an intimate. It isn't nessicary if that's what your doing, but I really liked having ALL the info in one place, and being able to lug it with me when I was trying to work things out. I used the coupon for Randy so it helped to pay for itself. I think if you are planning to do anything extra for your intimate (illuminations, outside photo, etc..) it'd be good to get, if your just planning the basic package you can live without it.

Hope this helps.

Melissa

Thanks ladies! We originally planned to do the intimate, but now that we are going to have an almost 2 year engagement we are thinking it would give us a little more time to save for a custom. I guess I'll hold off on purchasing the e-book until I know for sure what we're going to do. Why doesn't Disney publish a guidebook for their weddings? They have one for everything else. For kids, without kids, dining, going cheaply, etc... Why not one of their biggest aspects :confused3

Does the book have any info for DCL weddings? Or is it just WDW?

Thanks!

Jennifer

Oh man... I didn't know about the coupons. I have the book and I have booked with Randy Chapman. I wonder if I could still apply it. I'll have to get the book out tonight & re-read!!

I was just going through the book, and I couldn't really find anything about DCL weddings. Sorry, someone please correct me if I am wrong.

If you have a long planning stage (like me right now), we bought the DVD that Disney has on www.weddingchannel.com... we really enjoy it, and it has given us a few ideas about what kind of wedding we are wanting to plan.

Here's the link:

Thanks! That looks fun :) So it's not just about Disney wedding, but it's produced by Disney weddings and weddingchannel.com? Is it just general wedding info and tips or is it a lot of WDW stuff? Thanks again
